New thread, looking forward to finale, but wishing it really was the last episode, with all storylines and characters ending satisfactorily.

I think the only thing I would say is inevitable, is that Serena won't raise her baby. She may well have him for a while and then have him taken away, but in some way she won't be there forever.

Variations include:
Baby dies before or at birth
Baby dies later, after serena thinks everything is fine
Baby is taken by gilead, serena is in prison/Canada
Baby is taken by Fred, serena is in prison or even deported back to gilead (and made a handmaid now she is proven fertile?)
Serena voluntarily gives the baby to someone else (my first thought is Rita) to raise, as she is in prison/deported

Whichever they go with, I think serena will have to experience what she has put other women through.

Me too. I read half a spoiler and then quickly clicked away before I saw any more.

I can say this now as it's been aired, but I kept seeing online the picture of June, Nick and Nichole sitting on the window ledge. So I knew they would meet up but I didn't know how.

I am feeling very impatient for the finale. I think I will rewatch the season this week to prepare 😂

Puzzled as to why she was driving, what was clearly a long fucking way, by herself with Nichole with the other car behind when it was no secret that she'd have protection. Why wasn't someone else driving/them all in the one car which would have allowed her to sit with Nichole? Appreciate they might have then wanted another security car but it just seemed a bit odd.

Maybe :) But it wouldn't be fun driving what seems like hours with a toddler who got out briefly and was mainly plonked into a buggy and then back in the car again. Maybe she took her to a park en route?

Clearly overinvested in a fictional programme!

June will return to gilead for Hannah, thinking Janine is going to start her own army, she now has esther on side they and other handmaids will be ready to help when june returns ??? Maybe !!!
Can't wait for Sunday.

@ThisIsSimplyBeyond Serena's child ending up with Rita isn't a bad bet actually. Serena is clearly horrified at the idea of returning to Gilead and raising her baby there.

However, she'd still want it raised in a good Christian home if something happened to her. Rita would be able to provide that. It would be a good twist.

Rita told Fred that his family was his problem. I can imagine her taking the baby if the Waterfords were both out of the picture though.

I think she would if it stopped the baby going to Gilead. She hates the Waterfords but she hates Gilead more.

If Nick is a commander now do you think he fell in love with someone and married them? Commanders and their wives seemed to be traditional pairings. Or was that just from the days pre Gilead?
Do young unmarried Commanders in Gilead have arranged marriages like Nick's first wife was. And if so, would they need handmaids? Surely you only give a commander a fertile wife if you have some control over it?

I’m sure young women wouldn’t be allowed to spend time with men unless they were chaperoned. I’d guess that while her feelings might come into it, her family would be very much involved.

I doubt it. I can't see what chance people in Gilead have to fall in love - also pretty sure "lust" is forbidden. Not sure how old Nichole is now but he can't have been married for that long - can't remember how long ago he went to Chicago? The timeline in this show is difficult to follow.

I thought there was an awful symmetry here - Luke in Canada with his daughter in Gilead, and Nick in Gilead with his daughter in Canada.

And June caught in the middle of the two men.
