New thread, looking forward to finale, but wishing it really was the last episode, with all storylines and characters ending satisfactorily.

I think Nick and Lawrence will keep it to themselves. What happens in No Man's Land etc..

dapsnotplimsolls · 22/08/2021 22:19

She's seen how well Luke, Moira and Nichole work together as a family. She's had to sacrifice her relationships to get revenge.

NashvilleQueen · 22/08/2021 22:19

I'm assuming serena didn't know hence her downloading Zoom

Applesandpears23 · 22/08/2021 22:20

As a mother wouldn’t you wash off the blood before touching your baby? It is possible Gilead had a trial of Fred in his absence and he was sentenced to death for betraying Gilead. So Nick may not be in trouble for this.

TheSpottedZebra · 22/08/2021 22:20

@Schweetheart

I was a bit confused by the no mans land bit. How did June and the others get in there without anyone in Gilead getting them?
Nick and Lawrence arranged it? I mean, it makes no sense that they are all powerful now, but it serves the plot I guess.
WitchSharkadder · 22/08/2021 22:21

I loved that it was a salvaging, it was fitting. It will be weird without Fred though, as vile as he is, he was such an integral part of the series.

I think the 5 minutes thing was June saying to Luke she's leaving him because she knows she is no longer the wife he loved and she will never be. Too much trauma, anger, pain etc for her to play happy families.

Can't wait for S5!

Schweetheart · 22/08/2021 22:21

Luke simply cannot comprehend the severity or reality of Gilead. Understandably.

Loved the way they emphasized the comparison between the two “worlds” (normal vs Gilead) and that June is always being tactical though clearly in a way that’s less acceptable in the real world.

smallgoon · 22/08/2021 22:22

Glad you guys have finally caught up as I binged the whole thing weeks. ago. Thought the ending was terribly disappointing.

Haudyourwheesht · 22/08/2021 22:22

@oneglassandpuzzled

She might have killed Nicole’s father.

Even if she hasn’t she is now too damaged to be in a family.

Her revenge might have lost her Nicole.

I assume a DNA test was done on Nicole.
TheSpottedZebra · 22/08/2021 22:22

Moira wasn't there, was she? Just Emily and a few others from the library and I guess some other others. Who aren't as far into their therapy.

goinggently · 22/08/2021 22:22

Is no mans land a bit of the USA?

Will June be a fugitive in Canada now?

I wonder if tuello even knows about the killing.

I was puzzled by Fred's white jacket whilst hanging on the wall. He looked like a dentist or waiter, what was that about?

BobaFettOnMyBedsideTable · 22/08/2021 22:23

I think she's realised she can't slot back into her old life and they can't be together. What she's done will be a step too far for Luke. She's too damaged.

I kind of hope they don't do another series. I don't think there's anywhere else to go with it.

TheMoth · 22/08/2021 22:23

Gilead might think Fred is in Geneva.

I suppose going to see Nichole, whilst covered in blood, showed how far removed from society she is. She's 'in blood stepp'd so far, that to go back would be as tedious as to go o'er'.

colouringindoors · 22/08/2021 22:24

The "5 minutes" and Luke sliding down the wall is the end of June and him playing happy families. He's starting to realise how damaged she is, and she knows happy families won't work.

Loved the Nick kiss too.

Schweetheart · 22/08/2021 22:24

So ok makes sense re Nick & Lawrence.

Would Lawrence have had to disclose to the other commanders what he was doing? Or do we think no one in Gilead knows about Fred?

goinggently · 22/08/2021 22:25

June has gone full animal i agree

goinggently · 22/08/2021 22:26

I wanted to say earlier that I so enjoy Lawrence's performances. He is amazing!!

TheSpottedZebra · 22/08/2021 22:26

I thought that June wanted him onnthe wall, so he was. But was 'disguised' as a waiter, or econoperson, or whatever. Ie Nick and Lawrence arranged it, outside of the official channels.
Schweetheart · 22/08/2021 22:26

June will keep going until she gets Hannah. Luke had given up on that and wants to move on. June can’t.

viques · 22/08/2021 22:26

Well that ended well didn’t it, except for Fred of course. My prediction for series 5, apart from the obvious June goes to get Hannah, is that Serena persuades Rita to come and live with her and the baby in a very nice house she has bargained out of Tuello.

Thankyou all for your company and insight over the last ten weeks, under his eye until we meet again.

OnTheBoardwalk · 22/08/2021 22:26

Fred isn’t Nicolle's father this has been confirmed so many times

Interesting where they go from here

Haudyourwheesht · 22/08/2021 22:26

I think everyone in Gilead is just doing their own thing, and looking out for themselves now. Nobody's seeking too much scrutiny.
dapsnotplimsolls · 22/08/2021 22:28

I agree with the PP who mentioned the prisoners, surely any members of the resistance would be up on the wall after a speedy trial?

goinggently · 22/08/2021 22:28

@TheSpottedZebra thanks, that makes sense re the disguise

namechange7865 · 22/08/2021 22:29

I thought it was brilliant. I am totally absorbed in June's rage and lapped up every vengeful punch and sneer, I didn't want it to end. I find Luke detached and completely devoid of any understanding, how can he be so calm towards Gilead and how they treated the women in his life, if my loved one had been through what she had I would have been at her side not sloping down a wall in fear and disappointment. I'm just so livid for June, so found the end very satisfying.
