The Handmaid's Tale Series 4 - finale coming up, no spoilers please.

New thread, looking forward to finale, but wishing it really was the last episode, with all storylines and characters ending satisfactorily.

It all feels like it's building to a good climax for June and her story; I guess if they do take it to ten, they'll move on and make someone else's story the centre of it, a bit like The Testaments.

I'd far rather have fewer series and stick with June!

I don't think he will but I really hope Nick gets out. He seems like such a genuine kind hearted person who is stuck between a rock and a hard place.
I know the screenwriters try to stick to what would realistically happen though.

The trouble with that is, how does a genuine kind hearted person get so high in a brutal regime like Gilead?
I think Nick has to have another side for the character to make sense.

Yes I'm not getting Nick being a kind hearted soul. I think he's done some very bad things in the past and regrets them now.

He loves June, and that has been his redemption I think.

I read an interview with Max Minghella from a while back and he said that although Nick is a Commander he is not that high up in the scheme of things. He confirmed that Nick is a good guy and people forget that he is a spy.

I can see that being an interesting future story arc though - a rescued teenage Hannah being unsettled in Canada and wanting to go back to Gilead, possibly via Serena (to spite June) and ending up as a Handmaid.

Series 1-5 with June as the Handmaid, series 6-10 with Hannah as the Handmaid?

Suppose she kills Fred, THEN goes to Gilead? You know how things have to keep getting worse and worse for the protagonist to keep things interesting? June being wanted in two countries instead of one would really step things up a notch.

Hannah wouldn't be a handmaid as she is a commanders daughter. Unless she transgressed.

Just rewatching the last episode - I'm blown away every single week by the acting! Even though I've already seen this. And I wouldn't even say Elisabeth Moss is the best - Yvonne Strahovski, Madeleine Brewer, OT Fagbenle, Samira Wiley, Alexis Bledel and not forgetting Ann Dowd!
And Bradley Whitfield!
And Max Minghella!

I only got one bit of information about 1 character! Which I have not shared. Don't even know if it's correct and it (the info) didn't cover many, many plot threads. And 'doozie' could cover anything, couldn't it? There are so many bad things we want to happen to bad people, and good things we want to happen to better people at this stage. The show writers are at least as inventive as any of us. I don't double check shit I read on the 'net about telly programmes, so it could have been a complete wind-up anyway.

Like those idiots who were cheering the Waterfords on. I wonder how many of the women in that group would see themselves / their daughters as potential handmaids or even Marthas?
