It's a long shot, but could Carmichael have been interrupting Ted to protect Jo? If she suspects Ted or Steve (or someone else who would hear what had happened in the interview), she may have wanted to make sure Jo didn't give them up. Equally, it would give her chance to investigate more fully and collect evidence to identify more of those connected.

It does seem unlikely to be solved by anyone other than the main 3 though

So, Jo said her mum hated growing up in her family with all the dodgy goings on. She faked her own suicide and is living in Spain. Jo is furious with her leaving her to get roped into the OCG by Tommy hence the throwing of the wine glass at her mum's photo in the first episode.

Or Jo knows her mum faked her own death, again hence the anger, and OCG are forcing Jo by threatening to get her mum as they've found out she's in Spain after all.

Then the dead bodies in Spain and the Señora Thurwell that someone mentioned is the OCG following through on their threat to Jo.

Those eyebrows are lower and less groomed than Nesbitt's. If Jo's mum was terrified of Hunter getting his hands on Jo, she would neither have killed herself nor fled to Spain.

@EachandEveryone I think Jo wants to prove to Kate she's not bent by choice and by putting her prints on Kate's gun it gets Kate off the hook to go and solve the corruption.

I also assumed Thurwell was the bent copper she had thought was her dad although someone up thread said his DOB doesn’t fit that? Which made me wonder if it’s Osborne. I like the theory that her mum was off in Spain with Thurwell though - would be another reason for the angry wine glass throw, a different way she abandoned her. Jo’s reaction when they first mentioned suicide was a bit odd.

So confused at the body cam, night vision bit in Spain. And really hoping we get a flashback to the car park scene next week.

Am not sure Jo thinks Thurwell was her dad. Didn’t she say that her mum told her she was the result of rape - not sure her mum would have named the “bent copper”?

I don’t think Carmichael is bent, just a smug, patronising, career hungry cow!

I don’t think Steve gave Lonax a “do I know you” look. Surely he knows who Lomax is from his multiple visits/raids on the MIT office in earlier episodes? I think it was more likely a “don’t be a dickhead” look!

Definitely interested to know if there’s something under the floor at the workshop.

I’m struggling to see how it can all be tied up in one more episode without rushing things. Or maybe that’s just me being in denial about the fact that it’s finishing!
