Can't believe Ryan escaped an AC12 interrogation briefing. He got let off lightly.

SophieB100 · 25/04/2021 22:42

@Graffittiunderpass
Yes I want to see Ma'am in the greenhouse too!

Will Steph appear next week - that thread is left hanging a bit, isn't it?

enjoyingscience · 25/04/2021 22:42

There’s quite a few pages in this thread now - can I assume that Jimmy Nesbit’s very strong eyebrow game has been fully explored?

IcedPurple · 25/04/2021 22:43

@Midlifeponderer

I think the female prison officer characters have become ridiculous now. If they had moustaches, they’d be twirling them and laughing in a pantomime villain fashion.
Same with Carmichael. Less a character than a caricature.
Tenementfunster · 25/04/2021 22:44

I looked up interim death certificate... let’s you start probate while the coroner does the inquest.
All a bit dodgy in this context. She’s livin the Vida Loca with James and his lustrous mane. They’re not dead.

Zampa · 25/04/2021 22:45

Vis a vis Buckells, it looks like he was just incompetent now, doesn't it? Easily manipulated and framed.

Whilst I think Carmichael's recommendation to release him could be seen as the corrupt protecting the corrupt, again I think she's just being a jobsworth and enjoying showing AC-12 that they got it wrong.

Itreallytiedtheroomtogether · 25/04/2021 22:46

I think there was no body found with Jo's mum's suicide...no way would she kill herself and leave her daughter to Tommy. Is she the one shot in Spain??

MotherOfGodWeeFella · 25/04/2021 22:46

@FawnDrench

I think they will unearth something or somebody significant when they dig up the floor of the gun-altering garage place.
Terry Boyle's photos? The rest of Jackie Laverty?

@MotherOfGodWeeFella

I thought she might shoot herself too! My theory is that Sindhwani is H and has resigned to make it look as though it's Osborne. But what do I know ....
I am steering towards him or Wise being the puppet masters. Not really on an evidentiary basis, I am basically fitting them both up. However it would be the twist we expect.

Of course Jos intel that the OCG is not acting as one anymore might mean that there is more than one corrupt faction. Bring a corrupt Ted back in play.

Rummikub · 25/04/2021 22:48

@SquirtleSquad

I wonder if Carmichael is the daughter/widow/sister of H but feel like it's too obvious now. Maybe she's just an absolute jobsworth. DH thinks Kates co-worker (the tall one who was at the work shop) is related to Dot Cotton.
I agree with your Dh re related to dot cotton. It’s been bugging me!

Yes - I wondered if that was the way Jo's mum got away and she is the woman found dead with Thurlwell.

Episode tonight definitely felt a bit flat. Shrine of Duty Podcast mentioned that 'due to covid filming' (whatever that means) one 90 min finale got split into two episodes - hence the 7th episode this time.

So if you take this week's episode as half a finale, I think that makes sense why it was a bit meh.

DH and I are working on the assumption that Carmichael isn't bent but being played by Osborne. Thurwell was not the body found and will be heart of the next series if commissioned.

TheLODstinkyunderpassAKATits · 25/04/2021 22:53

@EsmaCannonball
H is the police sniffer dog we saw in the last episode. Dot Cottan's four taps really meant H has four legs. His name is Humphrey and he's bent for the biscuits.

Crying at this! Genius Grin

LeaveTheBentBastard · 25/04/2021 22:53

I thought that this was a slower pace, but I think it's needed if the finale is going to be any good. Probably laying groundwork.

I would be disappointed if it is Osbourne. If Thurwell had been dead a long time, then it couldn't have been him messaging from Spain. H must be Nasty Nige, or perhaps Osbourne will have a Jimmy Lakewell tan next week.

Steve gave Chris (copper at the gun workshop) a "don't I know you from somewhere glance". Wondering if Lomax was one of the five in the Lawrence Christopher case or was seen in the Sandsview pic with Waldron.

Midwife1997 · 25/04/2021 22:55

Did I imagine that tonight Ted said something like 'Holy Mary, Mother of God and a Donkey'? If he didn't I'm claiming it for me.

BillGigolo · 25/04/2021 22:56

I loved it tonight but then I’m always happiest when we get the big interviews underway.

Carmichael I think isn’t connected to the OCG but wouldn’t be averse - she’s trying to suck up to Osborne to get as far as she can. I think it may be that Osborne is the main man but would love it if it a mad twist got pulled. Kate knows something is going on higher up, hence the flitting.

I loved seeing Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee having to back off when they realised Jo’s cell had CCTV. Ha!

I can’t make up my mind if that was Thurwell’s body but agree that he’s Jo’s assumed dad.

Thought Adrian Dunbar was on fire tonight. Oh my God, I was that close to greeting, Ted seems so broken. And Kelly Macdonald too - I’ve never been that sold on her but she was excellent.

He did but I think it 'and the wee donkey' I'm definitely using that one too!
lothermand · 25/04/2021 22:58

@Midwife1997 I think he said "a wee donkey"..so sorry, it's not yoursGrin

MyMushroomsInATimeSlip · 25/04/2021 22:58

Jo when being questioned said the OCG split into parts. This must have some significance. Could it be bent coppers for separate OCGs working against each other? I can't quite work it out

8dpwoah · 25/04/2021 22:59

My key question is what's being stored under the gun workshop. All the evidence that incriminates the bent coppers maybe?

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeep · 25/04/2021 22:59

@GrandmasNightgown

Well, it's four Dots we're after

We know 3

Dot
Ryan
Jo

The abused, neglected and groomed children who ended up in the police to follow the bent agenda

Who is the fourth?

The 3 so far were Dot, Hilton and Bigeloe (?)
AgathaTwisty · 25/04/2021 23:00

Next week better explain all the odd behaviour tonight. Episodes 4 and 5 were amazing, but tonight seemed to have massive plot holes.

Kate is always a by the book copper, but then she shoots someone and does a runner with someone who just tried to get her killed. Didn’t make any sense.

Carmichael might be a bitch, but she was always super straight. Why was she shutting down Ted and Jo in the interview when they were so close to finding the fourth man.

Why can’t Steve just talk to occ health. He’s only been taking otc painkillers. His test isn’t going to come back with class A drugs.

Not sure why there’s so much sympathy for Jo compared to previous lead bent cops.
She’s the worst of the lot. She’s framed innocent people and got them imprisoned and set Kate up to get murdered.

Finally. I can’t believe they killed Ryan and didn’t give him a grilling by Ted in the glass room. What a loss. It would have been amazing listening to that story.

HagenDaz · 25/04/2021 23:01

I am convinced that Thurwell is not dead but was the Spanish policeman. Those eyebrows gave it away.

Interviewedundercaution · 25/04/2021 23:02

How does Steve know miniDot?
Why did Kate run off with Jo?
Is it bad that I laughed when the two panto villain warders were thwarted?
