Stars Emily Watson and Denise Gough.

Cant say I know much about it, but hopefully it will be better than Intruder.

Please!

I think the woodenness is more like part of the character. I love her too, she’s such a talented actor so I am going to assume it’s because Emma is so closed off, partly because she’s meant to be boundaried with Connie (although she’s not doing so well with that :o) and because of Abigail but maybe she’s always been like that.

I quite like hard to read characters though. And conflicted/less likeable ones :o

GillBungalow · 13/04/2021 22:32

Also is it me or was the bit where she’s walking under the bridge some really bad green screening?!

Yes! I thought the same, like a really black outline around her.

The far fetchedness for me wasn't about the sex thing (let's face it, it's always genitally led) but rather the swiftness of it all I'm not sure if I do want to have sex with you, you've lost your spark. You always fancied that old teacher you had, why not hook up with him tomorrow? I'll just... go the pub

Clawdy · 13/04/2021 22:33

Why is the nurse mithering Emma about night duty? What would the psychiatrist have to do with her shifts?

Honeyroar · 13/04/2021 22:34

I’m quite enjoying it. Unusual for me. I wasn’t sure yesterday, but am getting more and more intrigued!

AwkwardArnottDentonFumble · 13/04/2021 22:39

Definitely - that was ridiculous, I am assuming he was already shagging ness or very close to it? At least that is what mumsnet relationship threads have taught me :o

AwkwardArnottDentonFumble · 13/04/2021 22:41

Can’t help but wonder if people on lorazepam are going to worry after seeing this 😬

unique1986 · 13/04/2021 23:07

Yes I thought tonight's was better in a way.
I'm surprised we didnt see Connie and Ness have a fling. Even tho we knew last night she would get with the husband.
Could have done with more scenes with Ness and Connie.

Wingedharpy · 13/04/2021 23:14

I agree that husband was already having sex with Ness way before conversation he had with Connie.

I wondered if that's why Ness's partner had left - because she found out?

My bad hair wig/self harm theory has clearly been shot to pieces tonight, as has my Emma Watson's accidental arson theory being the cause of Abigail's death. Presumably that was something to do with the lorry driver who was mentioned.

MissBarbary · 13/04/2021 23:24

The bath scene was beyond ridiculous.

Mammyloveswine · 13/04/2021 23:44

@MissBarbary

The bath scene was beyond ridiculous.
@MissBarbary totally agree! Just would not happen...

I have enjoyed it though...am looking forward to the final episode! Pleased it's not weekly!

2Rebecca · 13/04/2021 23:51

I'm enjoying it but finding it unbelievable. Is Connie in a hospital or remand prison when Emily Watson sees her? Agree as a freelance ? psychologist a nurse's shifts would be none of her business. Nurses have nurse managers. I'd expect someone to pay more attention to a deranged woman who already seems to have tried to kill herself once and not leave her alone to light fires. Not sure the public would view her as evil either given she ? drove her car off the bridge although suspect there is a twist to that

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 14/04/2021 00:00

@Clawdy

This is bugging me too! Grin
Allywill · 14/04/2021 00:59

Is she a psychologist or a psychiatrist? In the first episode she said she was a forensic psychologist but she told Connie dad she was Connie’s psychiatrist? They are not the same things!!

the80sweregreat · 14/04/2021 06:29

Right at the very beginning of episode one we saw her drive the car off the bridge , so if there is a twist of any kind it would be that she didn't do this and it was something to do with the car that was behind her on the bridge.
She has amnesia, but could remember the details of her husbands affair with Ness.
We still don't know what has happened to the other child. I was a bit distracted right at the end , but she was trying to light a fire ?
Kenneth killed Abigail I bet. Maybe an accident?

LizzieSiddal · 14/04/2021 06:46

Can’t help but wonder if people on lorazepam are going to worry after seeing this 😬

My sister used to have this when going flying as she was so anxious. But they’d only ever give her a small dose and 4 at a time because it’s so addictive. She loved it Grin

LizzieSiddal · 14/04/2021 06:47

Sorry bold fail above.

”Can’t help but wonder if people on lorazepam are going to worry after seeing this 😬”

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/04/2021 07:22

I think the story is progressing well

Yes hubby was obv shagging best friend before permission was given

Hence their chat

eatsleepread · 14/04/2021 08:08

I had such a feeling of deja vu when Connie heard her husband and Ness over the phone having sex. And then again when Emma went to Connie's father's house.

Reckon I must have read the book Grin

dayswithaY · 14/04/2021 08:15

Can anyone confirm - is Emma's husband also having an affair? We saw her sitting in her car while he was hugging someone in the street but I wasn't paying attention.

They said Kenneth was a lorry driver so maybe he killed Abigail in an accident.

Very unprofessional when the GP told Connie that Leah also loves the same drugs she gave her a prescription for.

AwkwardArnottDentonFumble · 14/04/2021 08:41

God yes the GP was ridiculous - not sure if totally unrealistic/poor writing or if it was deliberate to make a point that she’s dodgy (I’m seeing everyone as corrupt now because LOD!). Telling about Leah, offering a medication that is (according to Google) for short term use only and calling it magic or something like that?!

Also, Connie was there about her mum (that bit was really sad :() - IME a GP would never start talking about the medical care of anyone other than the patient. Maybe a quick how are you, but surely they’d suggest booking an appointment, not suddenly stop discussing the mum and switch to Connie whose notes wouldn’t even be called up on the system. Unless she’s a private GP and they have different rules?

AwkwardArnottDentonFumble · 14/04/2021 08:43

And yes days I think Emma did observe the husband with another woman. Arguably it could be a relative or something as she just saw them hugging but it def looked shifty

AwkwardArnottDentonFumble · 14/04/2021 08:43

And on their daughter’s birthday as well :( bastard

Men are not coming out of this show well 😂

Clawdy · 14/04/2021 08:53

Who is Leah?

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/04/2021 09:02

I wondering if she died on her birthday

Was a birthday party where she was face painting
