I can't remember much from previous seasons, even though I watched them all last year or maybe the year before (watched series 5 only just after it was released).

Do we think Jo actually did see an armed robbery - it seems unlikely given the speed of the convoy and the angle. I was surprised there wasn't more made of the fact a kid was shot!

Yes it was all set up to make her look suspicious. There’s no way she would’ve known just from a quick glimpse. I thought the “shit shit shit” was because she didn’t want one of those young boys to die rather than because of the delay.

I think blackmail is likely but it’ll have to be something really intriguing rather than just another OCG pulling strings thing

Someone on the last thread very cleverly pointed out that Kate is wearing her big jumper of undercover matiness - she then turns into her professional AC12 self once busted normally.

Nothing that's already been broadcast is a spoiler! Pure speculation is great. Just actual things that are things that some of us might not know about at all are spoilers.

Definitely. Dot in the last episode of series 5 was one.

Also shrine of duty podcast put forward a couple of interesting theories...that The not-happening armed robbery was designed to remove one team of AFO’s with an OCG-friendly AFO team. Then the delay in the sitrep to Jo was designed to give the replacement team time to get through Terry’s barricade and put up the pics of Gail Vela...🤔🤔

Massive ploddy let down. The early series were stunning. Series 3, absolutely jaw dropping. I can recall dialogue from them. Scenes that stay in my mind.

I liked their theory that the person who died was not actually the CHIS. Farida said the handler had confirmed it was, and Farida told steve the star witness had died, but maybe Farida is lying...

Maybe the CHIS is still out there!

When terry was being (incredibly poorly) interviewed, what did people make of Kate’s reaction off in her little room? I think she was appalled by jo’s methods, but can’t work our WhT she didn’t say anything

Either Kate's undercover or genuinely trying to progress in her new job, so I'd reckon whichever it is, she doesn't want to question her new boss overtly just yet.

I agree with what you've said that she didn't seem comfortable.

Possibly Jo is doing a bad job on purpose where she can, to offset the damage caused by what whomever is blackmailing her is forcing her to do. I.e. she had to delay the raid and is expected to get Terry charged but by doing such a bad job at it, she's got him released.

OR that was the ploy all along - make such a bad job of it that he's released to the unsafe safe house, and so he can't spill any beans to the police. Actually I think this is the more likely.

Not sure if that makes any sense for Kate or Jo - I'm confusing myself!

Why didn't Kate say anything? Maybe because she's not senior enough? Giving Jo rope to hang herself with?

I've just watched again. Jo doesn't seem particularly authoritative, does she? Yet she pulled rank with Marks. She's matey with Kate one minute, then cool and professional the next.

Couple of other things I've noticed (probably overthinking again): when the raid us over, she says to a female AFO "thanks for stepping in". Who's that AFO? and why did she step in? Said AFO was tall and dark eyed. Steve's new partner is also tall and dark eyed. In fact, we were treated to a long close up of partner's eyes as she closed a blind.

Something else: when Steve was meeting Jolly in the cafe, a stockyish guy came in a couple of seconds behind him. He looked a lot like the Carl Banks mugshot we saw later. Jolly gets a message and then leaves the cafe. Co-incidence?

I think the 'stepping in' comment was because the replacement AFO unit had been brought in at short notice to replace the original AFO unit that was compromised by the armed robbery/shooting.

Agree, the stepping in comment was thanks to the replacement AFO team, who may or may not prove to be significant!

Rewatching S1 at the moment and Terry is not the same character as the character with DS in season 1 (although I think Terry was the one in S5). Different freezer too, and flat.

Am I right in thinking that the guys doing surveillance on the flat were not police? They seemed off when it was happening, and then they said that the flat wasn’t being watched at that time - so who were they?

Will have a look back tomorrow as I didn’t catch the characters name but definitely a different actor (older and very thinning hair). Not sure if they’re supposed to be the same character.

I’m assuming because Jo is the boss and Kate is still the newbie in her current team, plus has the AC12 reputation. So isn’t going to want to be stirring things up by questioning her bosses shit interview techniques.

Okay, according to IMDB it’s the same character, just a different actor. A bit weird - surely when they used that character in S5 they could have just introduced him as a new character? Likely the OCG would do this more often than just once.

Also I don’t think Hastings was calling Terry “the local oddball” - I think he meant more likely to be a hitman than a stalker, as per Jill Dando.

But all of these things have probably been covered!

So I’m still bothered by Jed M’s tweet of the pic of Tim Tams as his first clue about s6...obviously Arnott’s makes them. But what else could it mean? A reference to a Tam o’shanter? Scottish? Tommy Hunter? Is he really dead do we know? Or a reference to Jo?

I should try and get back to sleep but this is bothering me 😂

Do you see Lavvie in his freezer in S1 then? I know you see her in the chest freezer and I know they focus on the freezer in in his flat in S1 but can’t remember whether you know that’s where they moved her to.

I just assumed they were exploiting multiple people in the same way, I didn’t think they were the same character when I was watching S5 given they haven’t even used the same.

My current theory is that Jed didn’t have a longterm plan when he wrote S1 one but then he came up with one for further series, in which case it will be based on the details from S1, rather than S1 being full of clues made in the knowledge of a bigger picture IYSWIM.
