But Steph doesn't know they are OCG.

LutherRalph1 · 29/03/2021 14:12

@Blondeshavemorefun
I don't think Roz died did she?

Pomegranatespompom · 29/03/2021 14:19

Roz ever to prison.

Think might mean lindsey?

BoreOfWhabylon · 29/03/2021 14:20

Roz didn't die and she was quite happy to set up Michael as the balaclava killer.

I also think Farida is doooooooomed.

FourWordsImMuNiTy · 29/03/2021 14:21

Nice try Blondes. Roz Huntley wasn’t really set up and didn’t die. And I don’t think she was exactly innocent - she started out railroading an innocent man for career purposes and then engaged in a massive campaign of faking evidence to cover up her murder of Ifield in self-defence.

All the guest stars have been guilty to some extent, but not simply villains, acting in pursuit of a goal which seemed justified in their own eyes - possibly being manipulated in their actions by the OCG.

Gates was laddering and taking kickbacks from the OCG (via Jackie L so he didn’t know the source). Lindsay Denton conspired in Tommy Hunter’s murder to save Carly Kirk.
Danny Waldron murdered Ronan Murphy and tortured Linus Roache in revenge for their abuse.
John Corbett was doing all sorts under the influence of Gill Biggeloe to revenge his mother’s death.

Bloodypunkrockers · 29/03/2021 14:24

Rox Huntley's in prison.

And she was hardly innocent

unique1986 · 29/03/2021 14:33

Are Picture Spoilers allowed on here?

CovoidOfAllHumanity · 29/03/2021 14:38

No Spoilers is no spoilers sonny.

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/03/2021 14:39

Sorry Lindsay not Roz.

MagicSummer · 29/03/2021 14:47

Regarding Chloe - surely she would have had to give information about her parents when applying for the Police, and this would have been double-checked?

storminabuttercup · 29/03/2021 14:57

I don't think Chloe is related to Tony it's just a coincidence but to be fair if she was I don't think she'd have problems getting in Gates was never found guilty of anything was he and died in the line of duty....
IstandwithJackieWeaver · 29/03/2021 15:22

Chloe, if she is related to Gates, may have been advised to change her name for her own protection given the number of BCs in the police.

Yes, the pp was correct Farida applied for a transfer - she'll have done that once AC12 got involved as she contacted them and probably thinks they're involved due to her intel.

HumousWhereTheHeartIs · 29/03/2021 15:30

They have had such strong actors playing central characters in past series. Kelly MacDonald is awful and very one dimensional as a performer. Sorry to say she is spoiling it for me. Definitely like Lorraine!

YouKnobhead · 29/03/2021 15:31

Phew. Managed to catch up with you all. What an episode that was. So much better than last week. I haven't fully got my heard around it all, but I agree with pp that I think Kate is undercover, unbeknownst to Steve. Steve is blackmailable.

Re. Jo being released. I wasn't sure if AC12 believed Farida that they'd even been in a relationship? There was a comment about no sign of any other person living in the house (because of course Jo removed all of her stuff last week). I would have thought that even if the evidence points to Farida being behind the [planted?] burner phones, the fact there had been a relationship which Jo hasn't disclosed would have led to some sort of discipline for improper conduct? So on face value, Farida has fabricated a relationship and been caught with burner phones. Jo gets released because she has nothing to do with either.

@NoWordForFluffy

Can it be Jimmy? He was banged up after series 4. Would get have been released in time to be a part of a recording made at some point in 2019?
Lakewell got eight years, Huntley ten. Could he be out?
IstandwithJackieWeaver · 29/03/2021 15:52

Lakewell could have been interviewed in prison?

I think the acting is fine - it's deliberate that she seems very procedural because it makes even weirder that she used her "police officer's intuition" re: the armed robbery. She's shown how calculating she can be by being manipulative when ending the relationship with Farida and by subsequently putting in the boot for Farida with Buckells. I think Buckells is one of those people who isn't the best or brightest, but possibly viewed as a safe pair of hands or someone who isn't going to rock the boat.

FoonySpucker · 29/03/2021 16:12

Steve seemed very interested in how the undercover cop's widow was able to afford various things (TV, Sky subscription etc).

When she went to his car she clocked the number of pill packets and must have thought something was off - is this leaving Steve open to a bit of blackmail maybe?

Did he leave his pills at her house? Seems unlikely given his reliance on them, but they were quite bulky boxes and he looked to be empty handed when he left.

I don't have any access to catch-up so I can't go back and check myself.

I agree with all the other posters saying that Kate is definitely undercover and is only pretending to be mates with Jo to get information.

CovoidOfAllHumanity · 29/03/2021 16:15

I kinda hope Buckells is just thick and promoted past his abilities. I think that would be realistic.

IstandwithJackieWeaver · 29/03/2021 16:18

It suits the OCG to have Buckells taking over these investigations they're embroiled in, but I think he's too thick to be useful to them for other things.

TitsInAbsentia · 29/03/2021 16:26

I don't think Chloe can be Gate's daughter, she'd be too young to be in that position now, in S1 she's poss a little younger than Ryan.

TitsInAbsentia · 29/03/2021 16:29

@IstandwithJackieWeaver totally yes to Nige being Morrisey's best role. Always makes me curious when someone plays despicable too well though! Incidentally I'm rewatching S1 and he's just whacked Kate after finding her with two phones....

wildthingsinthenight · 29/03/2021 16:30

I wonder if Buckells is "acting the fool"?

JaneJeffer · 29/03/2021 16:32

He could have put them in his pocket. I wonder why she went to the glovebox because he had left some out in the tray.

IstandwithJackieWeaver · 29/03/2021 16:44

Steve doesn't know that Ted gave the money to Steph. Last series Ted was under suspicion with his laptop, etc. and a sum of money was found in his hotel room. Steve is Mr. Squeaky Clean. Did he get his temporary promotion before or after visiting Steph? I did wonder if Ted was trying to curry favour with Steve?

JemimaTab · 29/03/2021 16:47

@SophieB100

I can see Farida meeting the same end as Maneet did.
I wondered about this too. I thought that Jo calling Farida a “rat” to Ryan may have been some kind of message/instruction. But that’s if she knows who Ryan is. I also wonder if she’s really interested in Kate romantically, as she seems to be suggesting, or whether she’s “playing” her. As she obviously knows Kate is former AC12 and may not entirely trust her (despite Kate’s tip off about the investigation).
