Anybody know when it starts? All I've found is this Radio Times article saying it will start before the end of March this year. www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/line-of-duty-season-six-release-date/ Kelly Macdonald is due to guest star.

Can't wait!

(Apologies if there's another thread, I couldn't find one.)

[quote Netaporter]For anyone who is wondering about the significance of Gail Vella and didn’t spot this clue in the trailer released earlier this month, this might explain it.

Oh my god. That's bloody amazing!

poorbuthappy · 22/03/2021 06:48

And Kelly was Merida in Brave!

Piggywaspushed · 22/03/2021 06:49

Martin Compston was discovered by Ken Loach for the very hard hitting film Sweet Sixteen. He is fabulous in it.

Benjispruce2 · 22/03/2021 06:52

Why do they bloody mumble so much??? Going to watch again tonight’s with subtitles.

CherryValanc · 22/03/2021 06:58

@unique1986

I used to fancy Steve but not anymore for some reason. And weirdly I suddenly am attracted to Kelly Macdonald. Like a baddie.😉
The shape of his beard makes his face look sligjky different. More angular. I wonder if it's to make him look unwell. That was a lot of painkillers in one go. His liver can't be happy (or bowel with all that codine).

With the impressive cleanup of Terry's flat, wonder is it's worth remembering that Dot Cottan ex works in Forensics?

For anyone wondering whose names were on Dannys list, here's a link:

Steve's beard is just screaming Just for Men. As indeed is the rest of his hair apart from a random bit of grey at the temple where his hair is also his natural dark brown rather than Chestnut Man 102.

As Kate went into the flat she looked back at the OCG print shop. But didn't Terry live opposite the OCG nightclub? I know he'd been taking photos of police going in and out as he showed them to Lisa.

And Jo's flat with all the locks - why did she now turn off the burglar alarm when she came in?

icanboogieboogiewoogie · 22/03/2021 07:27

I did thing there was an interesting contrast in the flat she shared with her ex, with just a Yale, and the locks to her own flat.

Besom · 22/03/2021 07:27

@iamsteveandkate

Changed name so that can't be linked to other threads I've been on!

I find it fascinating how people think LoD is in any way realistic! I am a DC on an ACU. I've only recently caught up on LoD as my DH banned me from watching it with him as I shout at the tele too much GrinGrin

What annoys me is that the writers go to effort of using correct terminology (such as CHIS) but then get other details soooo wrong! My biggest pet hate is that every suspect interview in every series has been AWFUL!! For many different reasons. Real interviews are nothing like this. And for this latest one, as well as an appropriate adult there would also be an intermediary to ensure Terry understood questions properly.

Also, there is no rule that officers are entitled to be interviewed by a person at least one rank above! That is complete nonsense... I have no idea why this has become a thing throughout the series. For a start, inspectors and above never interview anyone!!

And my last little rant.. the Police regs changed at the beginning of 2020 so I'm expecting every mention of the police regs to be wrong in this series!

Even as a non police officer I know most of it is clearly nonsense but I still really enjoy it. DH and I spend quite a lot of time taking the piss out of the daft bits. I can't watch things featuring my own profession though so understand why it must be annoying.

The Terry storyline is a bit jarring for me as I work in social care and I'm sure there would have been a nosy social worker poking around in his freezer before now.

icanboogieboogiewoogie · 22/03/2021 07:29

To be cynical, social work is so over stretched so maybe a social worker has been warned / paid off re leaving Terry alone.

NoWordForFluffy · 22/03/2021 07:30

The burglar alarm could have a remote control, so she'd deactivated it before going in.

Cherry, I said to DH that I was surprised Steve wasn't yellow with all of those tablets!

stevematekatemate · 22/03/2021 07:31

As soon as CHIS was mentioned, I paused the TV to google the meaning.

I was quite fast paced last night. Think I’m going to watch it again.

Houlyerwhisht · 22/03/2021 07:39

I'm LOVING seeing Perry Fitzpatrick as Chris Lomax. He was so funny in This is England!

KaptainKaveman · 22/03/2021 07:41

@Susie477

‘Local oddball’ is a reference to the Jill Dando / Barry George case. It was a phrase George used about himself.
Aah how fascinating. We also thought 'he's a goner' when they drove poor Terry off in the car. It reminded me of the ending of The Long Good Friday when you see Helen Mirren and Bob Hoskins being driven separately off to their deaths.

Farida was on Thandie Newton's team in s4 wasn't she?

Don't think Carl Banks is Lee's brother as they have such different body shapes but maybe I'm just ignorant!

What was the job opportunity Jolly Rogerson was talking to Steve about? he is a sad man Sad these days , dd and I wanted to give him a big hug. Lonely and addicted to high strength painkillers.

The three young blokes doing the post office robbery were obvioulsy small fry and being used as a front for someone....

Where is the freezer? that flat is an OCG flat isn't it, a lookout point to check ingress and egress from the Kingsgate printer's. What I don't understand is how Terry Boyle' s semen ended up all over the pictures of Gail Vella - it must be the OCG's way of making him become the fall guy for her murder, but as Kate observed he's really not capable.

Besom · 22/03/2021 07:41

I just can't see him never being known to social work or health or housing and they could not pay everyone off. It doesn't ring true. But hey ho - have to suspend belief with this.

NoWordForFluffy · 22/03/2021 07:49

If Terry had ever used the OCG brothel they'd have kept his semen for using later, as they've done before.

LyraShaeLilly · 22/03/2021 07:50

@iamsteveandkate

I agree I work in a hospital and stopped watching Holby City and Casualty for this reason.

What did think it strange when the same team attended an armed robbery where shots were fired and then the same team went onto to another high risk operation? Would that of actually happened surely other team would be deployed as original team would be all flustered and not at their best especially after shots were fired!!

GillBiggeloesHair · 22/03/2021 07:50

Will gave to re watch later with subtitles, either I'm deaf of they mumble.

Besom · 22/03/2021 07:51

Cuckooing is an increasing problem sadly but it's the fact that he seems fairly significantly disabled to be living without any support at all.

Buggerthebotox · 22/03/2021 07:54

@Houle - yes of course - This is England. Alongside Vicky McClure of course (she was brilliant in that, fair do's).

I think this series is going to be a belter. I think Owen Teale is going to be back too (Steve's boss from S1). I don't think Hastings will survive much longer in AC 12 (nor Steve, by the looks of him, poor dab).

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 22/03/2021 07:54

Thanks for that image fluffy I wonder if they bagged each sample with a name too? I thought they were all randomly chucked in a bin
GemmaFoster · 22/03/2021 07:55

It was Jo that requested her boss sign off the paperwork for the lower level surveillance- Directed surveillance authority. Kate said the gap in surveillance was due to the fact it should have been intrusive authority, and Jo let her boss take the blame for ‘messing up the paperwork’

I missed that. Thank you.

I’m waiting for people more committed than me to get screenshots of Anne Marie’s photo and Jo’s mum. I didn’t remember John Corbett even having a sister though.

It was a different team. Jo left Kate in charge of the bookies robbery team while another armed team was brought in to do the raid on the flat. Hence the unfortunate delay.

I thought it was the police taking photos of the nightclub because they were waiting for John to show up but caught Ted going in instead.

Terry took photos of the printshop on his phone because he “ couldn’t remember things”, so inadvertently captured pictures of the police raid.
