I saw a trailer for this the other evening but DC were running around and being loud so I missed most of it. Does anyone know when it’s starting please? I don’t want to miss it as it’s brilliant!

On other news, and this is really sad I spotted it but the old files of the - the picture of Liz im pretty sure is picture of a character from Cracker that Susan Lynch played.

I was obsessed with Cracker and the episode Susan Lynch was in, really stick in my head (probably because her character was a right scary mentalist)

Cracker has got to be close to 30 years old

RigaBalsam · 09/03/2021 23:26

@BentBastard

Thoughts on the nature of the criminal conviction?
Maybe prostitution there was a sex pic in her flashback.
miserablecat · 09/03/2021 23:29

does anyone think Eugenia might use what she overheard for leverage for better pay/working conditions? Sheila Hancocks character is quite horrible but I'm not sure Liz is much better.

We thought it was a 4 parter and were worried we hadn't covered enough ground before the final episode next week!

bendmeoverbackwards · 09/03/2021 23:32

I think Eugenia was involved 😂

Oh of course, it's Susan Lynch! I knew she looked familiar but couldn't figure out why. I always wonder whether that portrayal did for her career. She was so good but so absolutely terrifying and I don't think I've seen her in anything much since.

If she's stuck in my head in that role and yours , we won't be the only two.

SixesAndEights · 10/03/2021 00:53

The director put in that photo of Susan Lynch because he'd last worked with her on Cracker.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/03/2021 05:10

recap e3

I think a good episode

Tho who the hell would cut off head and hands and keep in a lock up for 8yrs

Where were they before that for 22yrs

BruceAndNosh · 10/03/2021 06:26

Was the fridge in the storage unit plugged in? I thought it wasn't which would mean ewwwwwwww!

aramox · 10/03/2021 06:54

Yes ewww. Unplugged! So two of these men have (likely) fathered children with disabilities/Downs. Is this relevant? Has one of them done so before (genetic?) and that's the swing in the flashback? Where are Ram's other 3 children?

miserablecat · 10/03/2021 07:25

I thought it wasnt either!
Me and DD were surprised that a) he went on his own and b) he wasnt sick!
We were also panicking he was going to be locked in by the ex school "mate" who didnt think much of him!😂

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 10/03/2021 07:43

The fridge was definitely unplugged. And yes, how gross to open that up.

Loved the way that Liz was so matter-of-fact about subterfuge with meeting up with Fiona, even though the latter would undoubtedly be caught on camera so close to the police station.

Surely prostitution wouldn't be the type of crime to stop a mortgage application? Wasn't she already concerned about it back in the first episode and her DP made some flippant (but clearly relevant) comment about money laundering or the like?

Are we assuming the sleezy BIL was after sexual favours from Fiona?

Ram and Liz seem colder characters than the other two.

Dean seems affable and very changed but then we remember that he was only very recently doing something very dodgy for Felix.

I found the flashbacks too fast to really interpret. Did drugs feature?

Sorry to divert but I have never seen Cracker, it's on BritBox, my free trial ends in about a month - worth watching?
Willgetbetter · 10/03/2021 07:54

Cracking episode! Nicola Walker’s son character is very fit.... Wink

I liked the part when the redhead copper’s classmate accused him of being a dick at school!

So Foggarty - how did he die again?? The only thing I know is he was drunk and driving the car on THAT night... Do we know anything else about him?

Also enjoyed this Guardian review of the episode: www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2021/mar/09/unforgotten-series-four-episode-three-recap-when-will-fiona-fold

Willgetbetter · 10/03/2021 07:57

So haven’t Dean and Fiona both changed their names since the incident, but don’t recall the police referring to this. Confused!

Willgetbetter · 10/03/2021 07:58

@RedRiverShore - Cracker was gripping but also pretty grim iirc...

Clymene · 10/03/2021 08:00

On that recap is great @Willgetbetter! I can never make out the flashing images so it's excellent to have them all described so clearly. V intriguing

Youhavetoquitwhileyoureahead · 10/03/2021 08:14

*"I don't think I've seen her in anything much since.""

I think she was the teacher in Russia in Killing Eve wasn't she; and also the farmer/mother of the son in the second series of Happy Valley?

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 10/03/2021 08:15

The only Cracker episode I have any recollection of is one with Robert Carlyle. I think the drama was acclaimed at the time?

I've looked her up on wiki and she has had a very busy acting career so I'm glad to be completely wrong Smile
RedRiverShore · 10/03/2021 08:53

Thanks @Willgetbetter, I don't mind grim, I will watch.

aramox · 10/03/2021 08:55

I don't think Dean has changed name has he? And who's Felix, the one who got Dean to smuggle in ep1?

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 10/03/2021 08:57

Felix clearly has a hold on Dean. Maybe he knows something about what happened 30 years ago? Maybe Felix is the tall guy seen chasing the victim with Ram.

SallyCinnamon3009 · 10/03/2021 09:03

The actress that plays Liz was the mother/sister in series two of Happy Valley and she also played the landlady of the pub in Save Me

Bloodypunkrockers · 10/03/2021 09:05

It was a great episode.

I actually went "awww" when it finished. Grin

Ram is very unpleasant but I wonder if that's to lead us to think he was the instigator of whatever happened

BruceAndNosh · 10/03/2021 09:20

It's never the obvious suspect so I guess that means Ram is off the hook
