Is anyone watching it out of all the bad press she gets you can see she really cares about Harvey

Like others have said, I'm not her biggest fan, but when it comes to her children, she is a good mum. She's the product of a media reputation, which she initially invited, and I don't think she ever envisaged it would turn out how it has for her in terms of the media.

Strugglingtodomybest · 25/01/2021 22:27

I turned on the TV and it was on, I missed the beginning but got totally sucked in immediately. What a lovely relationship they have, and it was really interesting to see the reality of their life.

ineedaholidaynow · 25/01/2021 22:32

Has Dwight Yorke ever had anything to do with Harvey?

Pepperxo · 25/01/2021 22:41

Aww what a heart warming lovely programme they have such a good relationship you can see how relaxed Harvey is with her. She is making the right decision he is very large now and she will struggle to restrain him and keep the rest of her children safe when he has episodes of challenging behaviour. He will love college and absolutely thrive there!!!

No... Not ever!
cheerfulpanda · 25/01/2021 22:42

What a lovely polite young boy Harvey is, she should be very proud. They clearly have a close bond and I loved the bit with the trains.

I always think there’s more about his father and Katie doesn’t always let on. I remember an interview Dwight Yorke did on Sky Sports once expressing regret about how their relationship faltered once she met Pete, I think they would only let him see Harvey on their terms. I don’t blame them, having a complex needs child means you have to set boundaries.

He was paying her mum to look after Harvey until not that long ago, wonder if the maintenance has stopped now he’s 18.

Lineofconcepcion · 25/01/2021 22:45

@HmmSureJan

All her kids are lovely, well mannered and well adjusted. She's clearly a good mother and I have to wonder just how awful a person she can be - speaking of how she is dragged in the media here - to have done that
She gets a bad press because women are not allowed multiple sexual partners only men are allowed . . . and she's her own person which men hate.
LizFlowers · 25/01/2021 22:47

I am very impressed.

WildHorsesRunInMe · 25/01/2021 22:55

She's a lovely Mum. All her children seem polite and well mannered and she's done a fantastic job raising Harvey.

icelollycraving · 25/01/2021 22:56

I like her. She doesn’t pretend to be anything to be anything than what she is.
I really smiled so many times. What a lovely relationship and lovely young man. When he’d say ‘yes babe, what a day, beautiful’ showed such sweetness in him.

WorraLiberty · 25/01/2021 22:58

Sadly a lot of women hate that about her too.

Denny53 · 25/01/2021 23:23

Say what you like about Katie Price but my God she’s an amazing mum to Harvey

TableFlowerss · 25/01/2021 23:24

What’s it called? I fancy watching it. Harvey seems like he’s got a lovely bond with his mum. She’s a great advocate for him and I’m so pleased she publicly raises awareness of the absolute scum of the earth that mock those with disabilities on line. That’s the lowest of the low and to do that you must be an absolute cretin 😡

Hope Harvey gets in to his new college.

Wendyhause · 25/01/2021 23:27

I watched it tonight too. Concurring with many comments regarding her very obvious devotion to her children and as for Harvey, it was quite an emotional programme to see how he has such a young mental age and how he views the world around him. Not sure if he has some sight but it appeared that he does. I am sure he will get the best and most appropriate care but how sad for his mother to state she hoped he dies before her as he could not cope if she was not around any more.

PrincessScarlett · 25/01/2021 23:32

I loved watching this. The love between Katie and Harvey is heart warming to see. Katie is amazing with Harvey and it's obvious he has been hard work over the years but she has always been there for him and you can see he adores his mum.

I've always liked Katie. She's made some bad choices over the years but no-one is perfect and the press have lapped up every mistake and vilified her for it.

As for Dwight York, what a disgusting example of a father.

No she doesn't! She will be paying for him but where Harvey goes for education has to be approved by her local authority because of his particular needs. She is not free to choose whatever she likes.

Fizbosshoes · 25/01/2021 23:51

Im not a KP fan by any stretch of the imagination. I watched it and thought she seemed really good with him, and it was really sweet how he interacted with his friend at the train station, but showed how vulnerable he is despite being adult sized. You can imagine how he could be taken advantage of.

I thought Dwight Yorke had contributed financially to him, although no idea what the scenario is.

I understood the places at the college are only available via local authority funding, following an assesment if they are the most suitable for a persons needs? (as in you can't pay privately to get a place)

PrincessScarlett · 25/01/2021 23:53

I don't think Harvey is reliant on state funding to get a place. One of the colleges was telling Katie that local authorities only tend to fund for nearest college rather than the one best suited to a person's needs so it is likely Katie will be paying for it herself.

Fizbosshoes · 25/01/2021 23:57

@PrincessScarlett
Oh I missed that part, although I thought she was allegedly bankcrupt?

BenoneBeauty · 26/01/2021 00:06

I'm sure the LA will pay if they decide it's the most appropriate school. She gets benefits for Harvey and I don't believe any of it is means tested. I remember seeing her talk about it a few years ago and she said it was really important he was 'in the system' as that was the only way to access the care he needs and it meant he would be looked after when he turned 18 or if she ever lost all her money or died before he did. She pays her taxes and I couldn't begrudge Harvey getting what he needs. Dwight Yorke on the other hand should be forced to pay up - he's a disgrace of a human being.

HmmSureJan · 26/01/2021 00:41

Harvey is entitled to benefits and state support. How much money she has or doesn't have is irrelevant. I heard her talk about it once. She said he needs to be in the system if a time should come that there was no one to care for him.

HmmSureJan · 26/01/2021 00:42

@BenoneBeauty I didn't see your post but yes I saw that too.

Embracelife · 26/01/2021 00:48

Most of these specislist colleges do not allow self funding. Has to go thru LEA . He has to get funding in his own right based on his needs being met there.

IHaveBrilloHair · 26/01/2021 00:48

DLA/PIP is not means tested.
David Cameron claimed it for his late son as he was perfectly entitled to do.
