It’s cold, dark and there’s a pandemic but one bright light is the new series of drag race tomorrow. The last series was so joyful and really put British drag back on the map. I hope this series is just as good

I think that's a good point about if the judges get a preview of the runway outfits as they are hysterical. Graham and Alan are always great.

I can't warm to Sister either. She's neither edgy nor attractive enough and the teeth and the footering about with her face she during lockdown just make her look a bit odd but not in a good way.

I like Ellie. I'm Scottish and I prefer her to Lawrence who plays on their Scottishness to cringeworthy levels.

Like everyone else, I think that Bimini totally stole the show last night, and her and Tayce must be the main contenders.

I went off Sister completely after Ginny left and she was really horrible about having been robbed of the chance to "win" the lip sync. I get the reason she felt that way, but her choice of words and the way she said them were uncalled for.

I’ve watched Queens in Lockdown. Bimini has really grown on me. Felt so sad for Veronica who clearly had been most affected by the lockdown. I hope she is doing better now.

Sister Sister was dull even in the videos. But I think ChienLoup has put the nail on the head. She was very rude when Ginny left. Ginny said she didn’t want to be against her friend so bowed out. Sister Sister could have been more gracious really.

Yeah its a shame Lawrence completely tanked, I think she chose the wrong character, SuBo could have been hilarious!

I really enjoyed snatch game, most were good, Bimini was amazing, and I was so happy that Ellie did well too, much funnier than I expected.

Yes there is quite the controversy about the cost of appearing on drag race. I really feel for the ones that don't have the same amounts of money that others do. I'd heard that Joe Black had to sell a lot of their outfits over lockdown, and Ellie diamond has made remarks about being totally skint. Her home town is not a rich city and Ellie became technically homeless she was saying on the lockdown show and got her old job back at the McDonald's drive through! I think that's why she is so creative and great at sewing, because she has to be to be competitive!! Its been an issue on the US show too.

DH and I think sister sister looks like a peasant from a medieval film!! I know that's cruel, but its the haircut. Could totally see her in Dexys midnight runners too. Think she'll be the next to go. I wonder if Sister will get pulled up on last nights look being similar to Lawrence's? Wonder if she changed that in lockdown like she changed her chip look?

Ooh I'm going to hop on this thread, better late than never! I loved Tia and will miss her so much, she's so funny but probably the right call. Not keen on sister either, just comes across cold for me. Really warmed to Ellie after queens in lockdown, only 21 and her whole family were made homeless!! She puts on such a brave face and has a great attitude to life.

It's all about bimini for me now though; talented, clever, and absolutely gorgeous in and out of drag!!

I just watched the Rob vs Romesh drag episode that was on Sky yesterday and laughed like a drain. Joe Black is in it fleetingly and you can totally see how good she is when she’s in her element!

I’ve just watched it so I can catch up with this thread now.

I’m not surprised Tia went as I think she’d hit her limit - the promise of improvement kept being made but not achieved. She’s so beautiful and has an amazing body so I think she needs to go for it more (IM-non drag-O!) and I don’t know why she didn’t (unless it’s fund and yes I do think there should be a levelling of the playing field there). That said I was hoping it would be Lawrence who went because she gets on my tits. Her Snatch Game wasn’t anywhere near being funny, in fact it was just embarrassing especially for someone who calls themselves a comedy queen (in between describing themselves as a stalwart of their local scene that others look up to or somesuch). An unfortunate mix of insecurity and unpleasantness, given her snide tendencies.

Bimini was a deserving winner; her Snatch Game was inspired (and fucking funny) and her runway look was redolent of Alexander McQueen, right down to the elephant-style shoes. Go Bimini!

It's only this season that I've realised that the Queens have different budgets. It seems wildly unfair and the stories about contestants getting into debt for the show is horrible.

Watching season 13 of the US show too and their gowns must by $$$$. They are all wearing Bob Mackie and Diego Montoya dresses!

I think the issue with Sister is that I could tell you all about the other queens, their personalities, memorable catwalks etc., but Sister..... nothing.

I know we aren't supposed to mention the American one but Tina Burner was with Graham Norton for a while. Well I never!
He is mentioned in Graham's biog, Kristian was a 'bad boyfriend' allegedly (and agrees he was) and their 6 months cohabiting did not end well. He was in his mid twenties and Graham was mid forties. But in the photos, they did look happy. I wonder if things would be different now. Graham says men cannot take being second fiddle cos they are too alpha and all egos get in the way and that Tina's drag queen job suits him as you can be centre of attention and drink. As for being with him because he's rich and famous, he says to a certain extent you do hope that, because he is wealthy and comes with fame so bf would need to handle both. But he was heartbroken when him and Kristian split.

Apparently Sister Sister has been getting some quite heavy criticism/nasty comments. She has tweeted about how awful the reception was after Thursday's episode. I'm not keen on her drag but why do people go out of their way to abuse others directly, via social media?!

I thought they always refer to each other as "she" when in drag and working. They always use feminine terms of reference on ru Paul.
