I'm a single parent and to be honest, after his abusive Dad, my son's only male role models in a realistic sense (esp since lockdown/Covid) have been Marvel characters.
Which sounds desperately sad, and is, but he could have far worse ones.
I can't see any problem with big budget, family aimed, hugely entertaining Marvel blockbusters which are teaching the kids who watch them about courage, strength, selflessness, teamwork, friendship and following the right path, even if it is the more difficult one.
About making hugely tough choices, often to your detriment, because it's for the greater good. That society matters and people matter and no single person is more valuable than others. That if you have the ability and opportunity to help others, then it's the right thing to do. And that friends are loyal and have each others backs during the tough stuff.
My son could have far worse role models than that. This is the point that Scorsese missed by a mile.
