It's a back story for Mick that hasn't made sense since day one really.
The writers are a bit slack on the actual details I think.
It's brought up some good points about young boys being groomed and abused but some of it doesn't make much sense.

It's one of those suspend reality storylines.
So, Linda and Mick, the original childhood sweethearts, rock up years ago. Mick with Nancy over his shoulder, stopping her at the alter.
We all fall for it, hook, line and sinker.
Linda goes through hell, Mick goes through hell, and they stick together, because they and us have all bought in to their happy ever after.
Then, boom! Lockdown, limited cast, desperate storylines.
So they reinvent Mick's past - because that's all they have available.
Bits of it were well done - I don't really rate DD, but he's doing a good job and all credit to him.
But it sticks in the craw, because Mick and Linda - well, they are Mick and Linda, and there was never, ever, any hint of this. Linda would never, ever, cheat on her Mick. And he would never let his "L" within an inch of Max. Which makes it all rather far fetched. And with such a sensitive storyline, rather distasteful.

I did laugh when she was sat at the table in Stacey’s and Martin told her to go to work. She tries so hard to be a main player in his life and she just isn’t when it comes down to it.

Agree DD needs an award for this.

I thought that last scene with Katy and Mick at her house was amazing. So powerful and creepily believable.

Katy was so creepy! It was really skin crawling stuff what she was saying. I felt sick knowing she was gas lighting and still abusing him.

Mick's past was always part of the storyline an abusive father an absent DM pre Shirley's news.

I was hoping he would record her threatening him, very sick individual.

Lauren was meant to be going to Scotland with the Wayland guy but ditched him. I'm not sure they ever said where she ended up but there has been enough of a gap for her to have moved back to NZ to be with Peter.

I still can't see Danny Dyer as anything other than a squinty, middle distance starer with two facial expressions. Yesterday he managed well with his voice acting, but not with his face. Today I felt that Kellie Bright was carrying him through that whole scene with Mick and Linda, and she was working her socks to drag him through to the end. I bet she was like "Right, listen Danny, I'll do the heavy lifting here, just try really hard to do something other than the squinty face, just for this one scene, it's got National Television Awards written all over it, dammit."
