Please help me name this actor. Driving me bonkers.

Ok. I think he’s Scottish. Over 60. Balding but hair a sandy/ginger/blond sort of colour. Slim, sharp features (I think)
Similar age but not either Bill Paterson or Denis Lawson. I picture him as weary and maybe as an older uniformed police officer. 😩😩😩 Any ideas?

I picture him wearing a trilby style hat and playing a character called Sandy. Someone's sidekick in a period style detective or police drama. I can see the face of the man you mean. Very similar to Gordon Jackson but a more modern version. But from the 1980s/1990s.

The bank manager thing made me think of Philip Franks, (probably best known for The Darling Buds of May) but he's not Scottish.
