New thread - because of the imminent closure of the last.

@unique1986

Come on without this thread half of us would have switched off.
Not really. I only came on this thread near the start, ignored it for the rest and then posted yesterday during/after the final when it popped up in Active Conversations. This thread really had no bearing in whether I was watching or not and never does.
Aragog · 05/12/2020 19:50

who does not need the money

I assume you don't believe anyone who is wealthy should be allowed to work, and certainly not have a job which involves working away for any length of time.

What's the cut off point for how much you can earn before you can't work/go away for work if you have children?

Sertchgi123 · 05/12/2020 19:51

I've enjoyed this series and I've only just joined the thread, just to see what was being said on here.

IhateBoswell · 05/12/2020 19:53

People are seriously discussing her leaving her children to go in the jungle?!

Unbelievable! Some posters have made this series thread absolutely barking, I wouldn’t have believed a nice person, like Gi clearly is, would be so polarising.

I hadn't heard of her before I'm A Celeb, reading a bit more about her seems to be a parenting influencer (amongst other things) and Mumsnet always goes absolutely batshit on the IG threads if anyone dares to be a mum influencer, so maybe that's it lol Grin

IhateBoswell · 05/12/2020 20:01

Probably that then Grin Been shocking to read though some of these comments.

CallmeAngelina · 05/12/2020 20:33

"Aw, I liked Jordan smile"
"Just seemed genuinely fun"

But would you be happy to marry him? Or for your daughter to do so?
I can see the AIBU/Relationships thread already!

JaneJeffer · 05/12/2020 20:44

Just because you like someone on the telly doesn't mean you want to marry them Grin

Quaagars · 05/12/2020 20:46

But would you be happy to marry him? Or for your daughter to do so?

Lol, I'm in my 40s so there'd be about a 15 year age gap - I like my men older than me so no not marrying him Grin
As for if I had a daughter, yes why not he seems a genuinely nice guy from what we've seen on screen

sweetkitty · 05/12/2020 21:02

I only watched it this year as DD3 was watching it and she’s 12. Giovanna was her favourite from the start and I’m glad she won, she was a great role model for a young girl. No fake plastic boobs in bikinis. She was kind, gentle and maternal. She thought Jordan was a bit silly and Shane funny. Mo came across as very shy but I think he’s just a natural introvert up against extrovert showbiz types.

I thought that - he was genuinely lovely, but in a room full of professional, loud entertainers he's known for his running.
As someone who is naturally quiet I know where he's coming from lol.
He was quiet but he had a great sense of humour once had been in there for a while - "alright, pipe down son!" in the pub lol and when they went "TAXI!" he was like "I'm running home" Grin

In other words in a room full of professionally loud entertainers he's bound to seem quieter.

Butteredtoast55 · 05/12/2020 21:27

Personally I was really pleased that Jordan didn't win. He was utterly juvenile for a man of 30, or whatever age he is.

I thought he was a genuinely lovely, funny, kind and caring man. But I was amazed when I found out he was 30. His favourite pudding of Angel Delight, jelly, squirty cream and chocolate buttons was him in a nutshell!

I hope he does feel proud of how far he came. I liked both him and Vernon and found them really entertaining but I was pleased for Giovanna and hope to goodness she doesn't read some of the spiteful and nasty comments that have been in the media.

I know what you mean.

I couldn't be married to someone who came across so immature, regardless of being a nice bloke.

My 18y Dd and her 18y already seem more grown up that he came across.

Though I suppose some of it could be played up for tv effect I guess. I was genuinely surprised to find out her was 30 simply due to the way he was, and the way the other celebrities treated him as 'the kid' when there were actually others in there younger than him.

I've nothing against him though. He was nice enough and clearly had some fears he worked to overcome. I'd not heard of him before as I don't listen to radio 1. I'd imagine he will move on to presenting on these kind of shows, like the half hour 'side' shows they have off the back of the main show.

wetasstenalady · 05/12/2020 22:20

Why can't he be immature though? He's got no responsibilities or dependents

Quaagars · 05/12/2020 22:34

Agree
Not sure where the rules say you have to be a proper grown up at 30 whatever that is if there are any I missed that memo lol

MaggieFS · 05/12/2020 22:40

@wetasstenalady

Of course he can! Can't speak for other posters, but for me it was a trait I just didn't want to vote for though.

AppleKatie · 05/12/2020 22:48

Jordan’s immature thing must be at least partly put on stchick - he wouldn’t have the career he has if he was genuinely such a kid.

I do believe he was genuinely scared and overcame some fears though.

That puke on the cliff was not a lady C feint

He can be as immature as he likes. Obviously they may or may not have a consequence deep inside in who/where he is and how others feel about it.
Standrewsschool · 06/12/2020 08:55

Jordan is certainly boyish, but he’s a radio 1 DJ, so hasn’t done that badly.

JaneJeffer · 06/12/2020 12:00

I was browsing Boots website and I discovered Giovanna has a range of tat for sale.

CallmeAngelina · 06/12/2020 13:23

"tat?"

butterpuffed · 06/12/2020 13:59

@unique1986

Couldn't let this thread sink into oblivion without saying that I really disagree ~ this one and the last were full of posters sniping at each other and vitriol towards Shane and Giovanna. It made me post less and I'm sure I'm not the only one Confused
Standrewsschool · 06/12/2020 15:36

I agree @butterpuffed, the first two threads were less snipe-y.

Standrewsschool · 06/12/2020 15:37

Did anyone hear Russell on the radio earlier today? He was commenting how dusty and grubby the camp was. Also, how little daylight hours they saw, due to the hours they were keeping.
