Still dying to know what the story was with the disappearing chef

I heard he worked for Stena Line ferries and he passed one of their signature dishes off as his own, breaking a non disclosure agreement.

I’m wondering what a ferry company’s signature dish could possibly be?

If it was anything like the channel ferry crossings we took when I was a kid it might be a fish finger and chip butty 😋😋😋

I saw that, and wondered the same! The other suggestion doing the rounds last week was that one of the contestants totally lost it with Marcus and said he wasn't going to stand for being critiqued by a man who'd lost a Michelin star so M could F* off. No idea if this is true either, sounds more like fantasy, but something odd must have happened. We've seen contestants drop out early before after nasty cuts etc but this one became a non-contestant.

I am more likely to believe Gasp0de's theory. The following week Marcus made some off the cuff remark about nothing untoward happening, I don't remember his exact words, but it chimes with something being very wrong the week before.

That seems more likely than Stena having a signature dish - unless they have a posh dining option on some of their longer ferries? There is hardly time to do anything but get a drink on the channel ferries.

I’m always waiting for one of the chefs to really have a go at Gregg when he comes round and disturbs them during the cooking. That is probably just be edited though.

I bet there's a clause in the TV contract that states they have to pretend that Gregg knows stuff.

Limbered up for tonight's episode by making a rösti. O Marcus would have been impressed by the obscene amounts of butter expended on the thing.

Tonight’s skills test: opening a jar of pickles, cutting an avocado or mango, making a cheese and pineapple hedgehog.

I went to Dishoom for lunch (half price food until mid jan) and ate enough for a few days.
Hope there is tasty looking stuff tonight.

Well I’ve already had the best part of a bottle of wine so I’m limbered up and ready to go. I’ve also done a bit of my Christmas shopping online (so look forward to some odd and confusing deliveries in the next few days 🤪)
