What a lovely ending

Well that was lovely. Claim to fame - series was filmed at Down Hall Hotel a few miles away from our house.

I've never liked the final showstopper - they always end up looking underwhelming imo!

Either the brief is too ambitious or the time constraint needs reviewing.

Does anyone remember the season with the wedding cake finale? They looked pretty poor!

Happy with that. Follow up footage was lovely, and sad. And let's face it, if Scots can't occasionally triumph at sports using excessive amounts of sugar, butter and flour something's not right. (She says, finishing off the tarte tatin and reaching for the Moffat toffee) Night all!

An up and down series, but it ended on a lovely note.

I felt a bit sorry for Dave at the end, I think he thought he'd clinched it.

Was there any criticism of his custard slices? I thought he had a very good round with them then went on to win the technical while Peter lost it.

Peter had deficiencies in his showstopper on par with Dave's. Dave's base cake was 5*.

I wanted Peter to win but I thought Dave maybe had an equal or better three challenges!
