I want Dave to win, but when he's sitting with his feet up , scoffing a cake, offering small kindnesses and cheery comments, it strikes me as just a tad patronising . . .

I think he was in an impossible situation - anything he did could have been perceived as smug/patronising.

I'm struggling to see how this is the closest final in bake off history unless Dave's cake tastes shite

I think David is going to snatch a win here. Peter has been better the whole series but David is looking confident today.
