New ’un.

Whose turn on the storyline merry-go-round will it be this week?

OP posts:
Roussette · 27/11/2020 20:50

Oh god, they're singing together now, sorry but I feel this is awful

Smallsteps88 · 27/11/2020 20:51

Why do they keep making Simon Gregson relive losing his child. It’s a big twisted tbh.

Roussette · 27/11/2020 20:52

Blimey. Leanne in the hospital sobbing at Oliver's bed. Then 10 seconds later stood on the street?
Bad editing there

Smallsteps88 · 27/11/2020 20:54

I’m sorry but this standing 2 meters apart in the street after just losing their child is just ridiculous. Probably one of the most poorly executed storylines in a long time.

Akire · 27/11/2020 20:54

Yes why not end there on a Friday. We don’t need any more.

Jonny can shove off sick of his miserable face about the place. Give him 20y please

Roussette · 27/11/2020 20:55

This is weird.

He's just died and 10 seconds later she's home? Suely you would stay with your child for a while?

This is really bad

dryoldparty · 27/11/2020 20:59

I have a little boy a very similar age to Oliver and I think the story has been done quite well. I felt utterly broken watching tonight, the scene in his room just made me realise that parents come home from hospital every day after losing their children. I feel so grateful for my children's' health after watching that.

strugglingwithlife · 27/11/2020 21:05

I really wish I hadn't watched that Sad

strugglingwithlife · 27/11/2020 21:06

And agree about the distancing

SendHelp30 · 27/11/2020 21:11

That episode was horrific. What a shit way to end Oliver’s storyline. The pub scenes were so cringe worthy

StillCoughingandLaughing · 27/11/2020 21:15

I did think it was weirdly edited. All I can think of is, because the footage of Oliver is largely stock footage, it was very hard to show a final moment.

I thought Jane Dansons performance was heartbreaking when she got in Oliver's bed I just sobbed, to know there are parents that go through that. Gave my DD an extra big hug after seeing that tonight.

Honeyroar · 27/11/2020 21:31

I didn’t mind that episode as much as some of you seemed to. I found it pretty gruelling. I was kind of glad they broke away from the hospital scenes to the street scenes. It was never going to be as realistic as it would have been without Covid.

They could hardly expect a 3 year old boy to act a death.

Come on.

His death and hospital scenes concluded with Jane Danson singing and breaking down.

I for one wouldn’t want to see the last seconds of a three year old child being acted out either.

Honeyroar · 27/11/2020 21:33

On a different note, it was strange that they suddenly introduced different rooms tonight - Oliver’s bedroom and Yasmeen’s loft.

And Geoff’s new lady friend is so smug I almost think she deserves whatever she gets.

Err I dont think that’s what rousette meant at all!! Come on.

Akire · 27/11/2020 21:45

I imagined them holding Oliver or least a pillow wrapped in a blanket and end there. I now Covid it surely you would hold him or pretend too

Roussette · 27/11/2020 22:03

*They could hardly expect a 3 year old boy to act a death.

No,I really would not expect that. I just find it strange they weren't still in the hospital around him (not him obviously, but just not home so soon) But of course it's just a drama soap

Roussette · 27/11/2020 22:04

I really don't want to drain every bit of emotion from this, not at all.

eddiemairswife · 27/11/2020 22:18

Nick always has the same expression.........sad, happy, worried all alike.

RJnomore1 · 27/11/2020 22:18

I’ve only watched half tonight so far and taken a break. Came too see how it was seen talk about Judy Mallett. I loved her.

So sad, she was pegging out washing when she died and the twins were inside, her last thoughts were looking to the house trying to get back to them. Did they live in the duck worth’s house?

Clawdy · 27/11/2020 22:53

It was upsetting, but bound to be, obviously. I find Nick's acting is now very good, very understated. The Jenny-Johnny scenes were absolutely dreadful.

There was no "so soon", we weren't given a timescale, it could have been hours later.
excelledyourself · 27/11/2020 23:36

I wonder how Oliver's funeral will be managed. So many people won't be there who normally would. Maybe it will just be the parents/step parents/siblings for that reason

Akire · 27/11/2020 23:41

I was only half watching Jenny Johnie GCSE plot insert. What was that all about? He had character transplant? He empties account? He wants divorce? She invites people we never heard of to toe curling drink while they slag each other off??
