Starts tomorrow night on Sky Atlantic with a “fresh” faced Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant. It looks good and I love glamorous New York 😃

Or why hg was a total twat and hides the murder weapon in the woodshed

Throw it in the river ffs

lazymum99 · 30/11/2020 22:06

What teen would even know how the dishwasher worked!

lazymum99 · 30/11/2020 22:07

The strings of saliva between them whilst kissing was disgusting

Rollergirl11 · 30/11/2020 22:12

SPOILER*

So did NK leak the conversation she had with HG’s Mum to the lawyer friend so it could be fed to the prosecution? Wasn’t that a bit risky? Couldn’t she have been charged with purgery if it was shown she was lying?

JustDanceAddict · 30/11/2020 22:15

That was tense!!!

frustrationcentral · 30/11/2020 22:23

I'm disappointed

I was expecting a twist. Felt she looked really smug in the helicopter and they were about to show a clip of her being the murderer and she was letting him take the blame due to his mental health being unstable..

frustrationcentral · 30/11/2020 22:24

Grim wasn't it Envy
friendlyflicka · 30/11/2020 22:26

I thought that was a bit of a letdown. I don't get Nicole Kidman though at all. The only was it was a mystery was because she was such a red herring by acting quite so unreadably all the way through.

Which actually seemed like a very bizarre personality and definitely not a psychologist. Why did they maker her a psychologist? I don't know if that was good acting from her at all because it just seemed a very unconvincing person: which she had to be, given the ending, to give any sort of suspense. But that made her a really unlikeable character and a terrible mother and an awful professional and just a Daddy's girl...

evenmoreforthemoor · 30/11/2020 22:27

Nicole Kidman looks like she's been through the dishwasher.

Twice.

LaBelleSauvage123 · 30/11/2020 22:27

Rollergirl - that’s what I thought.

Clawdy · 30/11/2020 22:27

Yes, the kissing scene was unpleasant. Bit disappointing at the end, guess we all wanted a further twist, but it's been a good watch.

BookShark · 30/11/2020 22:29

I'm just annoyed that I read somewhere (maybe on here?) about HG's character being the murderer in book. Spent the last three episodes trying to forget it and failed! I quite liked the twist in the courtroom though - genuinely thought she was going to support him when she offered to go on the stand.

She even refers to the Bobby Ewing dream scenario and the possibility of NK being in some sort of fugue state.

FawnDrench · 30/11/2020 22:40

In the courtroom scenes, DS really did look half asleep most of the time.

All the paperwork Elena's husband flung off the table strewing it violently over the floor in anger after he had a go at the lawyer had miraculously tidied itself up and reappeared in a neat pile in the very next scene.

Amazing that the helicopter could land on the bridge...
Amazing that HG chose to jump off a bridge in the first place - he was never going to do that though was he.

EachandEveryone · 30/11/2020 23:05

Those suburbs of new york looked amazing

I got caught with Jagged Edge but never again. Now I listen to the facts: if a man has sex with his wife the night his girlfriend is murdered, he lies about where he's going every day and his ex colleague says he's a sociopath - or was it psychopath? - I'm not waiting for another murderer to come out of the woodwork. Did think NK's friend was tied up with him though so got that wrong. Enjoyed the final a lot - big budget & great acting.

tenlittlecygnets · 30/11/2020 23:39

Right, have just watched episode 3, but why has HG been arrested and taken to prison without the police saying what evidence they have against him?

Trying2Heal · 01/12/2020 02:26

His contempt for Elena and his extreme violence in those flashback scenes shocked me to my core. What a hateful, evil man.

Franke · 01/12/2020 05:43

Trying2Heal me too. The scene before the actual murder where he was slamming her head against the wall was more shocking for me than the murder itself. And remember the jail scene where he got into a fight and bit the guy's finger quite savagely? A mild precursor (in the storyline) to his violence.

Mindymomo · 01/12/2020 06:56

We loved it, such great acting. I thought it was going to be the father, my DH thought it was NKs woman lawyer friend.

Trying to work out when NK finally clicked that he did it. Might have to watch the last episode again.

banivani · 01/12/2020 07:29

So the twist was NK turning on him in court and dropping him in it. In other words it was supposed to be less of a thriller and more of a psychological drama - who is my husband really? - that sort of stuff. I have to say it wasn’t very successful. Not one of the characters was fleshed out and interesting enough for their motivations and inner reasoning to be understandable. I’d say the book is miles better then! HG did a good job those last few scenes of showing a man who has thrown away the mask.

So much unbelievable stuff in this. Hmm the best thing has been following along with you lot! ❤️

GoodBurger · 01/12/2020 07:30

I thought it was fabulous and demonstrated society’s expectation that a rich, popular family man couldn’t possibly do this despite so much evidence to the contrary. I will admit the helicopter was a bit ridiculous but other than that I really enjoyed it.

I thought the gradual slippage of HG’s mask was fantastic and a part that he played really well.

I’m planning to watch it again!

I think the tipping point was when he accused Henry
DillonPanthersTexas · 01/12/2020 07:50

Yeah, massive anticlimax that.

Was expecting one more twist after previous episodes deliberately led you in various directions with fictitious flashbacks and the like.

Still, Hugh Grant continues his transformation from posh rom com fop to a very decent 'baddie' actor
