Another mention from Noel about his dislike of food/eating. I'm very much starting to feel as though he's on the wrong programme. Also, I've never had an eating disorder/issues with food, but his comments are making me feel slightly uncomfortable, especially in the context of a baking programme.

ParadeOfRemotes · 30/10/2020 08:26

Why did the judges just brush over Peter's brilliance again? I think he's the best there but he doesn't get the love he deserves!

yes I'm Scottish and have a thing for ginger men

ppeatfruit · 30/10/2020 09:46

Parade We don't taste the bakes, so maybe Peter's don't have enough flavour for the judges, it's a very personal concept. My taste buds have changed with the years Grin

Egghead68 · 30/10/2020 11:42

Or maybe they don’t want to make it too obvious that Peter’s going to win or something.

BrieAndChilli · 30/10/2020 12:27

You have to remember this was filmed ages ago and then edited AFTER the winner was crowned so each episode is carefull constructed to either concentrate on the star baker and person going home as well as any drama. They may well have commented on peters and also the messiness of the inside of his shuttlecock but as that wasn’t pertinent to the narrative of this episode it would have been cut in order to concentrate on showing the one going etc

What brilliance?

The shuttlecock looked a right cock up Grin

SequinsandStiIettos · 30/10/2020 14:24

Or as Michael on Guardian blog said ''A hula-dancing egg!''

ParadeOfRemotes · 31/10/2020 08:22

Hah ok so I accept I am the founder and currently possibly sole member of the Peter-Till-I-Die fan club. Actually DH likes him too. The shuttlecock was genius! Grin

I think Hermine will go next week. I think the 3 finalists will be Lottie Peter and Dave.

ppeatfruit · 31/10/2020 08:53

Nah Paraade the shuttlecock was weird. the remit was for a CUTE type cake. The Mark with the pregnant avocadoes did it slightly better, but still strangely , just not as 'out there' as a CUTE shuttlecock Halloween Hmm

ParadeOfRemotes · 31/10/2020 09:34

Yeah I loved the avocado baby cake. If the finish had been better that would have been brilliant. I thought all the baking was actually quite good this week.

Unfortunately it has led DH to requesting one of those weird pancake Teletubbies hill cake things for his birthday next month...

MaggieFS · 31/10/2020 11:18

@ParadeOfRemotes Is your DH quite well?

BabyLlamaZen · 03/11/2020 09:10

On tonight woohoo!

Menu?

iklboogeymum · 03/11/2020 10:14

DH is getting a Viennetta for later Grin

BabyLlamaZen · 03/11/2020 11:23

Is it dessert week? I've forgotten already.

ILoveYou3000 · 03/11/2020 13:04

Just seen this. How sad. Luis always seemed like a lovely chap and was an excellent baker, really creative and talented.

It's 80s week.
Al1langdownthecleghole · 03/11/2020 13:29

I just saw that too, Iloveyou. Sad news. He always seemed like a big character.

SequinsandStiIettos · 03/11/2020 13:37

Cancer of the oesophagus. 48. Very saddened.

SequinsandStiIettos · 03/11/2020 13:38

80's week llama - they're having more theme weeks than Strictly Glitterball

SchadenfreudePersonified · 03/11/2020 14:01

Cancer of the oesophagus. 48. Very saddened.
How awful!

And the third person I've heard of today with that particularly horrible cancer (one of the others has just died, too).

RIP Luis.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 03/11/2020 14:03

AllI can think of for 80's week is chicken-in-a-basket, pineapple hedgehogs, prawn cocktail and black forest gateau.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 03/11/2020 14:03

Oh!

And Arctic roll . . .

Al1langdownthecleghole · 03/11/2020 14:07

Vienetta ?? Wasn't the trailer about ice cream?

CaptainMyCaptain · 03/11/2020 14:21

Hedgehog cake with chocolate buttons was quite 80s. I used to make them for my daughter's birthdays.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 03/11/2020 14:33

I'd forgotten hedgehog cake, Captain.
