I'd hate to be married to that self righteous, egocentric, selfish, boring, misogynistic bore! Imagine a life of his constant moralising stories and anecdotes about when he was a boy. Every. Time. You. Mention. Your. Own. Problems.

Found this week's offering very dull like last week(I know they are restricted in what they can do given the CoVid situation) it's all very flat. I hate actor's pretending to eat and moving food around a plate.

I am finding season five the best yet - it all feels more real and urgent and I think they 'do' Covid very well.
That said, it's starting to grate how every bloody thing reminds every bloody one of something massively significant from when they were children. Just watched Madison make a massive effort to be honest about her feelings and her ED only for Kevin to do a huge monologue about himself in response....
And Randall is beginning to grate.
And I hate Toby. And Jack.

Recently got into This Is Us. I'm ambivalent about S5 because this pandemic and lockdowns have brought up a lot from the past in a lot of people. It was a year of massive introspection for many. However, This Is Us has already been doing that for the last 4 seasons! How much more self-absorbed and introspective can they get?! I feel there isn't really anywhere left for them to go as a series. Still loved 1-4.
I also agree that the whole 'perfect dad' natrative gets a bit much. However I think the show makes it ultimately clear that a) Jack isn't perfect and b) the idealisation and idolizing by everyone in the family is every bit as toxic for his kids as his own dad's abuse was to him.

I liked how Kevin was protective over Maddison when Toby was losing it.

I can't look at Beths mum without thinking about the Cosby show.

It's all a bit virtuous and wholesome tbh.

I want to see more of Miguel and his story.

I think not being one of the new Big Three is the least of his worries- he's pretty much disappeared. The buggy scene - was that the first time he's been in it this series?

Strongly dislike US adoption storylines, their social services/welfare system and adoption regulations are messed up.
