Just a reminder that this fab programme is back

That people who spend £100’s a week amazingly reduce their shopping bill 😂😂

Assuming new series. Hope it is

Greg and Chris help a mum And her two boys Ditch the micro meals

What fabulous meals will they cook

What will they swap

And will they have the usual - I don’t like that - and it’s their usual brand 😂😂😂😂

Yea my mums a fantastic cook but as it's just the 2 of them there now and dad can only basically eat "mush" and she cares for him too she is quite demotivated on the cooking side.

She'll cook if kids/grandkids are over there but not really on a regular basis now.

I can certainly see how it happens.

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/10/2020 11:08

They must know they are evening filmed

Or do they film them in secret. Then say they are doing the show

@Graphista

I love your essays on any tv thread we are on 😂😂 Grin

Not sure if that's a compliment or an insult!

I am a genuine tv fan, I find out about the writers, directors, issues around filming etc

The coke thing really doesn't surprise me though I can spot rotten Pepsi a mile off! Far too sweet for me!

Remember when they were running the can you taste the difference promotion (if you're under 40 perhaps not)? I spotted the Pepsi every time (and got a lot of free coke drinks!)

I remember the Pepsi taste test. They definitely taste different. No idea why Pepsi would pretend it tastes like Coke. Definitely sweeter ( and nicer) I do think it’s a bit of a a marketing thing that branded things are the way things are “supposed” to taste. When actually people prefer something different. That pesto challenge was a point in question.
ArsenicNLace · 23/10/2020 20:02

They must know they are evening filmed

I must admit when they were in the supermarket at the beginning and they said they didn't know they were being filmed their conversation sounded so false and staged, 'Ooo lets get some cakes', 'Oh we shouldn't Kim will be cross with us', ' Oh she'll never know', giggle, giggle, giggle then putting three packs in their basket.

No way they didn't know know they were being filmed.

Graphista · 23/10/2020 20:17

I'm veggie so clueless on meat but that looked a big piece of meat to me

No idea why Pepsi would pretend it tastes like Coke the claim was BETTER than coke, which is nonsense obviously

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/10/2020 20:48

Pepsi max was much nicer then Coke but I liked the Aldi max one

Till I got preg. Now can’t stand the taste of it - so sweet

Abs I love Aldi pesto. Really nice

Im nosy so it’s a joy of a programme to get a neb at what folk spend, what they buy

sociallydistained · 23/10/2020 22:15

The husband on this weeks show genuinely loved everything and I loved that Grin

happilybemused · 25/10/2020 11:02

That was a lovely episode. They really tried and were very positive. I liked her attitude to the fish and chips in that it wasn't for her but she could work on making the fish recipe better.

BarbaraofSeville · 25/10/2020 13:38

@TheFormerPorpentinaScamander

Just catching up, and talking to ds2 at the same time Did they question why they bought 3 jars of curry sauce when they were on offer? Surely buying 3 makes sense! (If not cooking from scratch that is)
Yes, they weirdly went on about that. It was £1.85 or 3 for £3 so you'd be mad to buy anything but 3 but they went on and on about why they were buying 3 of them and would they use them all in that week. These were jars of sauce that would have lasted for months without going off.

Surely it's sensible to only buy them on offer providing you can afford to keep a store cupboard of course. People don't really buy one for £1.85 when they could have 3 for £3 do they?

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 25/10/2020 13:51

@BarbaraofSeville thats what i thought was happening! And of course its better to cook from scratch, but don't most of us have jars "just in case".
I cook from scratch most of the time, but if Chicken tonight or pasta bake sauce are on offer I buy a few. Then if I'm too lazy/ill to cook I know dc can be fed/cook without making a fuss.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/10/2020 21:52

If you watch the pop out scene you’ll see there was a go pro camera on the trolley not sure how they’d missed that
Blondeshavemorefun · 29/10/2020 07:40

Maybe they film them a few times

OP posts:
Didkdt · 29/10/2020 10:10

I'm sure they do but then they can't be surprised that they are being filmed

Wolfcub · 29/10/2020 19:57

Evening all

Wolfcub · 29/10/2020 20:07

This woman appears to be faking the shopping with extra veg for the sake of the cameras

burglarbettybaby · 29/10/2020 20:13

Really wish this couple well but I don't know. She is very critical of her husband and a sarcastic 'bolognese again' comment is a bit unfair when she doesn't cook herself.

Wolfcub · 29/10/2020 20:16

I think this will be the total opposite if last week

DameDoom · 29/10/2020 20:20

Crikey, the mother is doing my head in.

Wincarnis · 29/10/2020 20:22

Mine too

Wolfcub · 29/10/2020 20:23

Mine too Damedoom

MarxandMarzipan · 29/10/2020 20:23

she's a bit full on.

CakeIsMyFavouriteAndBest · 29/10/2020 20:26

How can her daughter never have chopped an onion before. Don't they have food tech at their school? How was she planning on surviving at uni?
