Our Girl Thread 57 "Our Girl Revisited"

We have been following Our Girl since 2014 and although there are to be no further series, we revisit time and time again to discuss. As an alternative, we are also watching the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier.

Poor Dave...Molly doesn't allow him to enjoy that moment. She feels so guilty about what happened and is struggling with the idea that CJ is so injured.

This is where it all gets a bit bitty - I wonder what they cut out?

There's a little flash of the old Dave when Molly mentions the £14,000 deployment money. Also Dave was a free meal and trip to West Ham.

I don't think you'd get a BMW for £14k, not unless it was a pretty old one Dave.

Dave has sorted out a free ticket at the West Ham ground for himself, all Molly needs to do is be paraded around the pitch as a war hero.

A little Asian girl drops a scarf whilst Molly is out on her run and she has a flashback to Bashira.

Dave wants a free meal - doh!

Molly gets flashbacks to Afghanistan during her run. She is finding it a bit tough at home.

Molly calls poor Qaseem when he's trying to get some kip back in Kabul.

She rings Qaseem. He has emailed Molly. He tells her that Bashira has been moved from the safe house.

My goodness look at the state of that kitchen!

Belinda finds Molly in the middle of the night in a bit of a state. She is really struggling with what happened in Afghanistan with Bashira and when she shot Badrai.

It really is very bitty - said that earlier, but it really jumps around a lot.

She can't sleep after that so starts to clean the kitchen which looks as if a bomb has hit it. Belinda comes down and Molly breaks down in tears. Belinda had no idea about Molly shooting Badrai dead and Bashira being in a safe house.

Ooooooooh, the restaurant scenes! I have sat at that very table!!

Mollie is not coping with being back home. Think that’s the difference with the barracks in Soldier Soldier.

Example - here we are in Bath - going to be quiet and just enjoy.

He looks so different out of his uniform. Not that I'd say no....

The dress was from Reiss I seem to recall. I even tracked it down at the time.

CJ looks like a cat that's got the cream.

How can Molly not know he's called Charles? It must surely have been on the divorce papers.

Do we think Rebecca liked CJ to choose from a menu for her or whether he thinks she's not capable of eating in posh places?

If a man asked me if I wanted him to choose for me, I would probably wallop him - a bit patronising!

He kisses her hand, awww, so sweet.

Not so sweet is the fact she says "Did you just wipe cabbage on my hand?"

So the wound was in his right leg in hospital, but the left leg’s in the boot thing.

"I want you to be brilliant" was another catchphrase we used for weeks and weeks after this aired. The iceberg comment too.

I do like how he wants to her succeed and achieve things for herself.

The waitress interrupts their kiss. How dare she!

Oh Molly, I don't think CJ would go to a Travelodge! Just wait till you see his parents' house!

That's a worrying phrase - "You're not gonna find it stuck here with me!" - you could read that two ways. It's supposed to sound generous but it could have sounded like a brush off.

She does look completely shocked.

What a waste of money on flights. Easy come, easy go I suppose.
