Our Girl Thread 57 "Our Girl Revisited"

We have been following Our Girl since 2014 and although there are to be no further series, we revisit time and time again to discuss. As an alternative, we are also watching the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier.

Yes, episode 4 next week - lots of talking points there. Have a good week everyone and stay safe out there!

Definitely nothing to beat that first series as you so rightly say Ilove and the second one with a new couple's dynamic and a bit of info about CJ and Molly was enjoyable too. After that it all went (to quote Elvis) Pete Tong. 😭

Hi Rhu, not really too bad - nothing like the media would have you believe. I am bubbled with my neighbour so in fact we have been out for lunch today. I do miss going out with other friends but that aside, it's business as usual. I can walk my dogs via the charity, work in my own garden or the day centre's garden etc. We've now been in Tier 3 since Wednesday I think, or was it Thursday?

Evening - glad it's not causing you too much trouble ilove. All you can do is follow the rules the best you can and try to politely keep your distance. I'm working from home 4 days a week now. I just go in to do something I can only do in the office, but that's OK. Luckily, it's still lower here but inevitably rising.

This was such a tense episode, wasn't it?

Recap is playing - scary flash forward - warning us what will happen.
But now we are back at Bastion and CJ and Molly are giving each other sly looks and she is giving him some cheek.

Now they are all on latrine clean...team work.

It's all ok for CJ and Kinders to shout at them all whilst they are sitting drinking coffee in the jeep!

Oh dear - Smurf is looking a bit crazy and he's bothered. His mum is sending him very unhelpful letters that are winding him up.

I still don't think Molly would have been expected to bunk in with the lads.

Kinders tells Molly that they want to catch Badrai. She looks pretty scared because she can ID him.

No ilove she didn't bunk with them when she first got there.

It's the 50 sausage challenge time....

See Smurf’s nipples - yuck!

Smurf wants Molly to watch the volleyball against the Americans.

The 50 sausage challenge. Qaseem looks horrified. I think I'd be with him on that!

Molly finds out that Qaseem is going back to Kabul as his contract with the British Army has finished. She pretends she wants to go and visit him when he's back home but in truth, she wants to go and see Bashira.

Molly is still thinking about Bashira...meanwhile she spots CJ in the background and can't resist having a chat with him.

Ditto...ditto...ditto

They are adhering to the rules - must be a tricky one for CJ. Molly thinks he's being distant, but really he's just trying to stay above board.

Oh I love this scene. CJ looks absolutely gorgeous. We realise things have moved on between them since the scene with Sohail at the hospital.

It must be hard for her as CJ suddenly cuts her off as if there's nothing going on between them.

He must be feeling guilty on several levels I guess.

He's not letting her out of his sight - probably because she can't be trusted to stay out of trouble. She does look really worried.

CJ accompanies her to identify Badrai, as the Afghans think he is amongst the insurgents they have captured.

In she goes to ID Badrai. They ask her if any of the men are Badrai. She takes a look and then one of them punches her. CJ must be furious.

None of them are Badrai but suddenly one of them lunges at Molly and knocks her to the ground. Love CJ's hand on her shoulder and his look of concern.

Back at base, Jackie is assigned to clean her up. It's a pity we never saw more of Jackie really.

Couldn't Molly have cleaned up her own nose for goodness sake.
