We have been following Our Girl since 2014 and although there are to be no further series, we revisit time and time again to discuss. As an alternative, we are also watching the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier.

The bit with the Nespresso shop, shows a whole different world - CJ's world.

Oh yes, the Nespresso shop! Molly does look rather out of place in there. She still has CJ's Rosabaya on her arm. I wonder how she's managed to keep it sitll legible after 2 weeks' worth of washing?

Molly must feel all at sea with CJ behaving a bit stiff and awkward. She starts to win him over and then he overhears a load of rubbish about Newport. Gosh he's jealous as hell.

Back in Afghan and Molly and Jackie do a handover.

I'd do more than give your boots a onceover CJ!

CJ queries Molly's visit to Newport then goes off in a jealous strop. Molly is very unhappy that Smurf has probably been boasting to the lads that she went to Newport with him and they have put two and two together.

Smurf is loving the idea that the lads think they've been having a good time together.

Now she tells him the truth - oh dear he says he loves her. Why didn't she pay more attention. A nasty brush off from CJ, very childish.

Molly was looking forward to going back and is now very uncomfortable how things ended up when CJ went off in a strop.

CJ is also very pensive in his lookout tower. He goes back to his quarters and finds the Rosabaya tied up with red ribbon

The platoon are packing up ready to go back to Bastion.

Molly is finding it hard to hide her feelings when she sees CJ who does his lovely head jerk to get her into the troop carrier.

To some extent, CJ must realise he has dug himself into an awkward little hole with his behaviour and be regretting behaving in such an unguarded manner. Of course, first time we didn't know what was going on in his private life.

Suspicious sheet in the road. How many times did we say that CJ should not be the one up front sweeping the road for mines. That is bonkers.

Something is alive under that sheet - it's Sohail. He is badly beaten and Molly springs into action. He needs a medevac.

Molly notices none of the girls are going back to school and says so to CJ who says he follows orders and the ANA are now back in charge.

As the convoy moves along, they then grind to a halt as they've found a sheet in the middle of their path. CJ goes off with the minesweeper (vallon?) to see if there's a booby trap. Molly runs after him "Have you got a death wish?"

Molly declares her feelings. That must surely flummox CJ.

"Do you love me?" Amazing that none of them can hear her.

The sheet moves... it's Sohail. Molly is now in full medic mode. He tells them the Taliban have left him there to die.

The American doctor is just what you would expect on a Hollywood film.

It doesn't look good for Sohail. He is too badly injured. Now Molly knows that he was a good guy and was protecting Bashira. Then he says he refused to kill Molly.

"He's GONE OFF!!"

This is bad news. Molly and CJ are both shocked to the core to find out she was a target. CJ finally gives in to the fact that he does care for Molly. Ah sweet...

NOt shot, sorry, they beat him with rocks and the reason was because he wouldn't kill Molly.

"He's gone off" was another famous phrase we used for months!

Sohail is wheeled away. Molly is in shock. Such a touching scene when CJ wipes away her tears and the lovely forehead touching.

I loved that, it's such a long time since I watched it all the way through.

There's nothing to beat that first series, though the second one came pretty close.

Yes,ilove it's a special series and every time I watch, it erases other less pleasant memories from later series. Series 2 is also great because I do like the Georgie and Elvis dynamic and it was at its best there.
