Our Girl Thread 57 "Our Girl Revisited"

We have been following Our Girl since 2014 and although there are to be no further series, we revisit time and time again to discuss. As an alternative, we are also watching the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier.

COME ON MOLLY!!

She's wearing a new shade of foundation called Afghan Sand!

Here comes the MERT.

Molly gets to Smurf - he does pathetic eye rolling. Now the MERT arrives. She pretends she can't hear him saying she musn't go up on the winch.

Down comes the winch - the triumphant helicopter music gets its first play...CJ keeps yelling, but she 'doesn't hear'.

Two Section cheer and whoop...CJ tells them it was stupid and he's crossed....but also very impressed!! This could be the start of beautiful...er...relationship.

Cover your chest up man! What is it with men baring their nipples in this show?

Smurf is going to...come back to her....I feel a bit queasy about that statement.

I think the accident has changed Smurf as he now promises to be there always for Molly. He is a bit like a little puppy afterwards the way he is with her.

Molly comes back via helicopter to the FOB and finds CJ waiting for her. What appears to be a telling off at first changes into more of a pat on the back.

Gosh, that flew past.

Love this final scene - CJ stands there, legs akimbo, waiting to give Molly a dressing down.

She lies and he knows it, but he lets it go because he thinks she is F*ing Awesome. She's an excellent medic - and he likes a medic!

Molly is in with the lads now....CJ shows he is human too...ah!!!

Well that's the first episode done and dusted.

Love this series. Just watching that managed to erase all memories of CJ and ...you know!

Well eejit there are two I could allow on the nipples front - but there generally there is far too much of Dr Dull's and Smurf's on show.

I think we see both CJ's and Elvis's nipples, don't we? As you say eejit, I think it depends whose bodies they are on!

Oh lord, I forgot about Dr Dull's! Yes, he's fond of showing his nipples!

just how many men do take their shirt off on this show? I bet even Milan got his shirt off in at least one scene - still makes a change from gratuitous female nudity. I think it's mainly male bottoms on show in showers - and long may it continue!

Actually, as I recall, CJ is shy of revealing all in the nipples department when he is in hospital - the sheet just covers them - but there's still the paddling pool and gym scene.

Bit late again this week but I really did enjoy reading your comments this morning. Brought back all the thoughts I remember everyone on the thread expressing and enthusing over. I've rewatched it many times of course and always feel that first series really was unique. Series two I liked also but the magic for me is in this one.

Laughed at eejit deciding she actually might prefer Dr Dull and Boring to Smurf. Hadn't thought about that actually but have to confess that Smurf irritated me enormously and I often felt Molly really did give him mixed messages. So in a way I think perhaps I would vote for Dr D and B if I had to make choice.

I've just seen him on the news and thought to myself that he was pretty good looking. Do you think they chose him deliberately to front the press conference? Definitely easy on the eye!

As for real life Dr Dishy, I'm afraid my eyes cannot get beyond the fact that he has a close association with Trump and I cannot consider him in a normal human light - enough said!
