Our Girl Thread 57 "Our Girl Revisited"

We have been following Our Girl since 2014 and although there are to be no further series, we revisit time and time again to discuss. As an alternative, we are also watching the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier.

I'm here, sorry for the last minute post. Just doing the recap now.

Here we go, Molly is running through the village looking for Bashira - here comes CJ showing all his duty of concern.

Molly chats with her new little pal, Bashira.

Molly is having a chinwag with Bashira and now she has seen her evil looking Dad. Ah...CJ thinks Molly is the queen. He is giving her a bit of a dressing down...stern face.

Back at the FOB - the dust is terrible. Look who is back, worst luck.

Poor Molly, getting an ear bashing from CJ.

.... and here is Smurf back from his stay at the hospital in Bastion.

Smurf comes over to eat humble pie with CJ. He tells him who he has to thank.

Now CJ has surprise guests lined up for the section.

Sorry to hear that eejit. We'll ramble on regardless.

CJ and Molly share a cute little moment. He has definitely warmed to her a great deal.

Oh dear, Smurf is "there for her" - yeah, I'd laugh too.

I've had trouble with my TV and iplayer too sometimes. Sorry about that eejit.

Smurf's chat up line about rubbing baby oil into his wound. No thanks!

She's ogling CJ in the makeshift gym - and who wouldn't, especially when he takes his shirt off.

Some banter amongst the lads when they're in the troop carrier. I think the banter was great in this first series. It deteriorated in subsequent series I think.

Yep, I don't like Newport either and it's not that far away.

That scene was when we knew she fancied CJ

I've driven through Newport once and was singularly unimpressed!

Love all the verbal with CJ, Smurf and Molly. Smurf realises he needs to win back CJ's confidence, whereas Molly is very much on the right side of CJ.

Smurf thinks Bashira is spying on them.

Molly wanders over to talk to her and finds out her father is sending her away to get married. Poor kid, at her age.

Bashira has to be married - poor girl and she's very unhappy about it.

Shots are fired.

CJ is being cheeky with Molly and she is being very cheeky to him. CJ has got a paddling pool .

The Taliban fire shots at the school. Qaseem says the British Army's presence is making things worse.

Oh how I love the paddling pool parcel from CJ's Mummy!

I never know what they think they have seen when they look at Sohail standing outside the tent. He's just watching them.

CJ takes Molly on a first date to the tea tent.

"We let them drink tea!"

CJ's such a gent!

CJ and Molly go to Sohail's tent. He really is a scary looking character. CJ tries to find out what he knows about the school shooting.

It's clearly against his principles to offer tea to a woman.

Sohail is sceptical of what benefit the British army will bring to Afghanistan. He sounds very hostile - but I suppose he's a realist.

That's the first time I've noticed someone blowing up the paddling pool in the background.

CJ is taken aback by how readily Molly says she is by his side.
