Our Girl Thread 57 "Our Girl Revisited"

We have been following Our Girl since 2014 and although there are to be no further series, we revisit time and time again to discuss. As an alternative, we are also watching the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier.

It must be obvious when Molly runs that she's the medic because she's so much shorter than the others.

Smurf has got a mad look in his eye, but he provides covering fire for Molly to run back.

"What have we just learned!!"

Moolly freezes again. I'd be scared as well, knowing the Taliban were after me as the lone female.

"What have we just learned?" Love that phrase!

Molly is summoned to the med tent to tend to CJ's blisters. He tries to draw her out over Smurf's behaviour.

CJ is cross again - first head nod from CJ...ooh er. "Medic" - he likes a medic after all.

Hard to believe CJ could have stinky feet.

CJ tries to find out what went on just now on patrol. Molly covers for Smurf because he covered for her nerves.

The first little thawing - she stands her ground and gives a bit of cheeky lip and he likes it.

The post arrives - CJ is starting to lighten up a bit. Must be awful to be on the receiving end of upleasant comments from a group of men like that.

Molly has been accused of being a grass.

Molly's family send her highly inappropriate gifts - chocolate and mascara and nail polish.

Fingers looks so young as he hands out the mail delivery.

Molly's box from her Mum is highly unsuitable. Who on earth sends chocolate to somewhere like Afghan and expect it to be edible by the time it gets there?

Molly and Smurf have a row. He's turned the rest of the lads against her.

CJ notices that Molly is being left out by the others.

CJ does the correct thing by checking up on Molly. He tells her she did the right thing in raising concerns about Smurf.

CJ's attitude is very much one of follow orders, do what you need, don't get involved. Molly is thinking too much.

You know, it pains me to say it, but I really believe I prefer Dr Dullandboringmanboobs to Smurf, May God strike me down ...

Just how many pens does one child need? Bet she's got a collection at home.

Yes eejit I've never thought of Smurf in any way as a romantic interest. Dr Dull did at least work with kids!

Actually, Smurf is right about Bashira and Molly is too trusting.

Off goes Smurf, with the Vallon, in pursuit of Bashira.

Molly and CJ's little chat is interrupted by a shot.

That made me smile eejit but you are right. Smurf comes across as a very immature squaddie.

So, is CJ really thinking she can't go to Smurf because she's a female?

CJ must be having kittens at this point.

Love this scene - she is such a trooper and really shows her mettle.

I think CJ is terrified he is going to lose two of his section.

Molly hits an unexploded mine and CJ has aged in the matter of seconds!

CJ must be wetting himself after that mine goes off.
