Couldn't see a new thread so started this one. So we're now into a show of two halves, edited together - pre and post lockdown! Who's shouting "before" "after" at each scene?

OP posts:
excelledyourself · 24/07/2020 20:02

@Smallsteps88 I noticed too, although I thought it was "buurfday"

Smallsteps88 · 24/07/2020 20:03

So do we reckon rick is in the back of gary’s van?

Also- why did Gary’s park at the factory? His furniture place is round the other side of the garage.

PennyRoyal · 24/07/2020 20:12

I think the scene when Bernie & Brian returned from the woods was filmed before lockdown as it was pouring with rain. Whereas in earlier scenes, when Tim/Jeff were getting car and Ryan was cleaning windows, it was sunny & bright, filmed after!

You could be right @PennyRoyal, although I did think it looked like Bernie, Brian, Gary And sarah where all social distancing in that scene.

woodhill · 24/07/2020 20:57

Did anyone notice how huge the Cabin suddenly looked, normally you tend to see the counter and door not a side angle

Strange Brian just abandoned his shop

PennyRoyal · 24/07/2020 20:58

They did, you're right. I wonder if they literally sat in the car squashed up against their own door inside and on "action" flung the doors open!

Some nice little nods towards the virus tonight and the crisis, without it being too overboard or in your face. I thought it well done considering how little time they've had.

Loved the référence in the café about ‘getting back to normal’. From what exactly? First mention of social distancing I’ve noticed today? Just seemed really weird 🤪

Smallsteps88 · 24/07/2020 21:06

I guess that’s to allow for 2m social distancing with 2 or 3 people in the shot.

Yes he just left! Rita would never have done that!

Smallsteps88 · 24/07/2020 21:08

Me too. I’m getting very frustrated with emmerdale as they are very obviously social distancing but haven’t acknowledged the virus apart from in their special episodes weeks ago.

Honeyroar · 24/07/2020 21:47

I didn’t even notice the nods to Covid!

Elaine surely must be Tim’s mother - the way she was peering around the corner wistfully and ran away all upset!

In defence of Gary and his winter coat, I’ve had mine on this week in North Manchester- everyone else seems to have had sun, it’s been freezing here!

Smallsteps88 · 24/07/2020 21:57

It was miserably grey & lashing here this afternoon. But not cold. I was in a vest top.

Keeping2ChevronsApart · 24/07/2020 22:08

Was Ricks watch the thing Gary was looking for ages ago?

ColonelNobbyNobbs · 24/07/2020 22:29

Was Maria in prison? For marrying her Spanish or Italian friend for a visa?

Clawdy · 24/07/2020 22:32

The scene with Michael and his dad talking looked odd, they were obviously not in the same room, and not together, but I guess it's one way to do it now. Sally or Tim mentioned social distancing, and there was a "Coronavirus " poster up in one of the shops, so quite interesting to see how they are dealing with it.

x2boys · 24/07/2020 22:33

I have been in a vest top too today in Bolton have my windows open and fan on tonight , I only watch Corrie now and then I prefer classic Corrie but I watched tonight as apparently it's the first episode with social distancing filmed after the lockdown ,I found all the references to distancing and the hand washing scenes etc quite amusing

Honeyroar · 24/07/2020 22:38

Yes I’ve been in a t shirt today, but lasts week was cold. I’ve had my winter coat on a few times doing the horses over the last week or so.

BreconBeBuggered · 24/07/2020 22:53

I didn't get the point of the father-son scene, other than to point out that Aggie is suddenly working too hard (presumably taking a break from bring Overbearing Mother of the Year, though).

Brashopper · 24/07/2020 23:01

@BreconBeBuggered, I think it was about NHS staff working extra hours “ in these difficult times.”

Smallsteps88 · 24/07/2020 23:09

Ahhhh! That totally went over my head. I was sitting going “what the hell is he going about her needing a rest for?”

zigzagbetty · 24/07/2020 23:18

Just watched and thought the social distancing references were done quite well. There was a reference in nearly every scene but it still didn't seem overdone. Though tbh Allia should of had a mask on in the hospital Grin
Was so happy yasmine told dishy solicitor about her visitor before the heart attack. Its starting to come together!

Smallsteps88 · 24/07/2020 23:24

I hope the heart attack gives Imran time to find out who Elaine is and contacts her. Not sure if she can be used in the defence case as a witness but I’m sure speaking to her about what Geoff did to her would be really useful.

Skybooks · 24/07/2020 23:28

Why were they all talking about animals

Gary saw a fox, Adam an otter and ryan and the ducks and babys!

excelledyourself · 24/07/2020 23:37

I didn't link all the references to animals, but when Adam mentioned the otter, I wondered if it was a way of saying how deserted everywhere was, so the wildlife was coming out of hiding?

RAOK · 24/07/2020 23:42

The socially distanced acting at all times is going to take some getting used to. I’d go for Peter and Adam 😜

Smallsteps88 · 24/07/2020 23:43

I noticed the fox and duck references but missed the otter one. What the hell is that all about? Grin i wonder if we missed any others.
