Chatting with DH earlier about our favourite LLL episode & would love to find it on YouTube or All4 but need help please. Involves a couple with quite a large budget looking for a quiet property. Phil & Kirstie showed them a really nice family house (road noise - few cars visible on the road from the long driveway) A barn conversion (can hear a car - camera pans over fields to show 1 vehicle in the distance). P & K get snippy with them as they’re showing them houses that fit the brief the couple asked for. Show ends with P & K visiting the couple’s new house they bought after the show ended. It was close to a busy road & access was through a car park, possibly a pub car park. I just want to rewatch it for the look on Kirstie’s face when she sees the place they ended up buying.

@FlamingoAndJohn

My friend’s sister was on relocationx3. It’s not on All4. She was lovely on it and came across very well.

A year or so later she was in London and the train home was cancelled. Last train and no other way to get home. She tweeted about it as she was cross and out of ideas. KA came and got her and drove her back home.

I've always been fond of KA

@Allgirlskidsanddogs

There was also an episode where road noise was an issue - lovely house but within sight of the M50! So rural on the English border outside Ross-on-Wye.
The world’s quietest motorway, to be fair! I’ve seen busier B roads....
Squiz81 · 07/06/2020 19:02

Just wanted to congratulate @Tigger03 @Oregghiette and @BlackCatsRule88 for their excellent internet sleuthing and @BringMeTea for having an actual connection. I love how we ended up so invested in them 😅
It doesn’t surprise me that he’s not a very nice person. I don’t think I saw either of them smile in that episode. His comments about older things being better made annoyed me too, good craftsmen exist now too! Especially as their stuff didn’t look particularly great anyway.

Oregghiette · 07/06/2020 19:11

@Squiz81 I do enjoy a bit of sleuthing! I live relatively near Hindon (not in a posh village I might add) so recognised the tree lined street in the program. If it had been one of the more recent ones, I wonder if Kirstie or Phil would have challenged them more about why they had bought a house with a carpark for a view!?

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/06/2020 11:37

Obv being thick. Can’t find any relocation on all 4 :(

All4 directs you to Channel 4. From there I just searched "Relocation":

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/06/2020 11:43

Not showing on tv but can find on iphone all4. Weird

They look sooooooooooooo young

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/06/2020 12:11

Watching. He comes across as a dick 😂😂

thesurreyyouth · 08/06/2020 12:47

I love how you’ve watched it with me 😀
I agree neither of them come across as particularly likeable. We need another episode with a WTAF element for us all to enjoy together. Anyone able to suggest the next one?

Finally finished. Had to put baby blondes to bed

So they went over budget by £35k - a small paved uneven garden which they will lower and right on a A busy road For noise 😂😂😂😂

ShiningTor · 08/06/2020 14:03

Thanks for recommending this, it's hilarious. We also noted that they just didn't smile at all. Incredible how badly they came across and how they demolished the brief at the end.

RoseLavenderBlue · 08/06/2020 19:31

When I first read this thread, I remembered the episode too! So I found it on Channel 4 app and watched it on the iPad. (Relocation not to be found on All4 on the TV). So funny when Phil said again, before going into the house from the paved garden, ‘I’m astounded, actually, by the noise!’. The front door opened straight onto the pavement too. I thought the couple were rather sheepish in the end as it was so obvious that they had bought exactly what they’d said they didn’t want.

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/06/2020 20:31

@rose I couldn’t find it either on tv all 4

But did imm on iphone

The house was funny but often happens

Bigger budget

Location different from what they wanted

Garden was a patio and small. No grass

Overlooked by everyone and not secluded

By a busy road

Yet complained at the sound of cars in a secluded area

Loved the little digs by phil 😂😂

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 09/06/2020 08:25

I found and watched it directly via the All4 TV app!
(And on the internet for Blondes as above.)

How can we all be finding/not finding different things on the same apps?

Chicchicchicchiclana · 11/06/2020 00:31

Late to the party but I must thank you for starting this thread OP. I found the episode and watched it all agog. I thought the couple were, frankly, ghastly. I mean they were so bad I had to keep reminding myself I wasn't watching a sitcom or a mocumentary or something. My absolute favourite part was Phil pointing out the state of their scabby old windows.

Thecazelets · 11/06/2020 00:37

Bizarrely I re-watched this very episode last weekend, and was laughing to myself all over again. So funny that it's come up on here!

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/06/2020 13:28

We do need another classics

There was one near me in Kent Tunbridge Wells

Wanted to be near statin. Phil found some lovely houses in budget and all 10/15min walk or cycle to station

They said no to all As too far

And found their own house for think 50/60k more then budget given and right by the statin

Phil said calmly well if you gave me that budget I would have shown you this house

Thecazelets · 12/06/2020 10:02

My favourite ( less extreme) recent one was the long-distance lorry driver who'd been living with his partner in one room in his mum's house for 5 years. K and P showed them a variety of perfectly acceptable-seeming houses, all in budget and more or less within the brief. At the end he rejected them all and said something like 'Even if we have to wait and save up for another year, I am not handing over any of my money for any of the houses you've shown us.' He sounded really shirty and his poor partner sitting next to him looked as if she was on the brink of tears - I thought it was an actual 'Get out now, he's never going to leave Mummy' situation.

To be fair I think they found themselves a house separately in the end - I hope they actually went through with it!

LadyEloise · 12/06/2020 10:21

Watching Locationx3 this week on Channel 4.
The female in the couple wishing to purchase- first time buyers wanted a garden. Her partner didn't mind.
Kirsty scoffs and says £15,000 extra for a garden
£15,000 !!!!
She tells him not to worry that they'll talk her out of it.
She thought the 3 rd floor ( or 2nd/4th) flat with no garden was a better buy.

Watching it now, after the tsunami that was/ is the Covid19 pandemic, I'd say an outside space of any kind is worth the £15,000 extra if you can afford it.

I'm watching Lx3 and Homes in the Sun with a different perspective now because of Covid19.

Tigger03 · 12/06/2020 10:55

@Thecazelets I remember that one! It was so so awkward, I thought they were going to break up at one point.

Thecazelets · 12/06/2020 11:14

Yes - me too!

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/06/2020 13:31

Yes a garden or outside space is essential

Amazing. How many look at flats or second floor properties

MayFayner · 12/06/2020 19:57

I watched this episode, what a pair of numpties! I thought they were as bad as each other and the place they ended up with was weird.

I then watched the next one, Relocation S1 E5 and it was lovely! Really heartwarming and the couple were so positive and down to earth. Also love revisiting turn-of-the-century interiors and lifestyles. Things have changed so much but I barely noticed it happening.

Oregghiette · 14/06/2020 13:35

Just watched S1 Ep5 of Relocation, and as I know the area quite well did a bit more sleuthing! I wanted to see how it was renovated but no pics on Rightmove. And can only see that it was resold in 2006 for 725k. And that it was a b&b but is no longer. I wonder what happened to the couple. There didn't seem much connection between them and they were very happy to live separate lives.

MayFayner · 14/06/2020 18:46

Did you think?! I thought they had this long-term plan where they would have the rural idyll and they were prepared to put up with a few years of not ideal set-up, so that they could make it happen. That’s probably me projecting my romantic ideals on them though.

It’s sad to hear that it didn’t work out as a B&B, or not for long anyway.
