seriously. i'm watching it now for work and it is terribly upsetting. Claire Verity says 'i'm a bitch, i'm mean to them but it works', no touching, no eye contact, lots of talking about 'baby', presumably because she can't be arsed remembering the name... oh it's AWFUL.

well actually they would say that they are offering these parents thousands of pounds worth of free expertise and they let the parents choose their experts. it's not really a wacky show, tbh. just upsetting cos of CV.

Kerry, i don't think she is American but her name reminds me of the stage names topless dancers take in the US.

TerryStealthPolarBear · 17/09/2007 07:33

I was reading the other threads about her yesterday, it sounds very worrying that people are following her advice to feed a newborn every 4 hours and not to cuddle or play with them!
I feel guilty if DS (20 wks) is awake and wants to play and I'm MNing - as well I should As for the cuddles, that's just incredibly sad

The Sweeney Todd of catering
The Norman Bates of hotel management

Have just read the thread and it seems like Katy states the bleeding obvious, as usual

Oh FGS. Just reading this is making me angry. If a happy baby is a fed baby why on earth suggest that you should feed it every four hours from birth?

TerryStealthPolarBear · 17/09/2007 08:31

Does she suggest you ignore a baby when he or she cries? Suppose I should watch and find out

toomanydaves · 17/09/2007 08:33

I thought you meant the Cary Gran tna dn Katharine hepburn film and wondered what was QUITE so controversial....

Was that in answer to my post?
Good point!
Was just thinking that DS has two cries - the "drop everything I'm injured / incredibly upset" cry and the "I'm grumpy come and entertain me after you've finished your wee" cry. Ignoring the first cry to me would feel like abuse.
