echt I just love Fiona Shaw in this, full stop. Not that I knew of her before. She's getting better and better. So subtle, the dry humour, the grief too - I knew she'd be great in ep2 after Kenny's death.
She's a real star. Love Jodie of course, but FS is no less of a star.

I wasn't a big fan of Sandra Oh but I think she is very good in this new series somehow, more nuances maybe.

CatAndHisKit · 21/04/2020 01:48

Esme I though ep2 was a bi disjointed, but did iike ep 1 (much better music overall, where as in ep many irritating songs, though the classical requiem Carolyn had on in her car was spot on).

It was SO obvious that the magnet K gave to the daughter, was spiked. I find C's daughter hugely irritating (as a character just stupid, really - surely she couldn't be her daughter or Kenny's sister with that IQ level).

The clown thing was pointless imo (and?...). We all know that V ends up killing anyone he's made to work with, meh.

CatAndHisKit · 21/04/2020 01:48

*she's made to work with

Trews2019 · 21/04/2020 05:30

Finding this series really boring!

Crinkle77 · 21/04/2020 16:04

Yes I'm bored too. Nothing actually happened in episode 2. I think it's obvious Dasha is stringing Villanelle along. Can anyone also remind me what Constantin did to V in Rome? I also wondered if the 2 from the magazine are either undercover MI6 or baddies.

Gemma2019 · 21/04/2020 17:19

@Crinkle77 Konstantin betrayed her in Rome because he knew that the 12 wanted her dead and had sent Raymond to kill her, but didn't tell her. He did buy her time and ultimately saved her life by telling her she needed to kill Aaron Peel. But she still vowed to come after him and his family when she could.

Yeah I was slightly disappointed by the second episode but looking forward to the next one. As if Eve would hand over Kenny's phone to his employers!

Gemma2019 · 21/04/2020 17:28

@Ulver have you seen the other two series? I don't think you will enjoy series 3 without the whole backstory and references.

Crinkle77 · 21/04/2020 17:30

Thanks @Gemma2019 just couldn't remember.

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/04/2020 20:43

I R.E.M. the chase around his home :boat :water

And that V killed peel and eve killed Raymond as she was after V

So K was always working with the 12. Wonder if we will meet the 12

And I didn’t know the magnet was going to be a bug. Very clever

CatAndHisKit · 21/04/2020 23:16

How the heck K still works for the 12 yet Carolyn didn't suspect it and just trusted him (after he got what he wanted from Carolyn), as if!

And yes, of course The 12 would watch Carolyn via K after killing her son. Bit conveninet that a gormless daughter suddenly stays with Carolyn and accepts 'gifts' from ex-FSB agent in the form of magnets. That bit was disappointing.

Agree that ep3 is likely to be very good as ep2 was very uneventful.

Patsypie · 21/04/2020 23:40

Eve is great in this series but it's all a bit meh. Harriet Walter and Carolyn's daughter are annoying though. I'm surprised how horrible and unflattering V's clothes are

Moomin12345 · 22/04/2020 16:05

This sound have ended with Eve's death at the end of season 2. Both her and V have become boring and insufferable.

RoseGoldEagle · 22/04/2020 19:22

Loved the first two seasons so so much, and so far am really not enjoying this one at all, such a shame.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/04/2020 19:53

It’s ok

Tho in a cartman voice

Who killed Kenny

OP posts:
Sidge · 22/04/2020 21:53

I’m not enjoying it at all. It’s lost the joyous madness of series one.

I actually got bored watching episode 2.

There’s no resonance between the characters and the quirkiness of the outfits doesn’t tally with the action eg the clowns.

It all just feels disjointed and completely lacking in tension and humour.

CatAndHisKit · 23/04/2020 01:04

I thought ep.1 was very well-constructed and thrilling (Kenny's death was a shock in the end) but ep.2 was a dip - too uneventful and irritating in places, and mos of all bad music choices - but I think it's just a slow start and it will get going again.
The next one will either make it or break it.

Ulver · 26/04/2020 17:39

I binged watch a whole series last night after giving it a second chance and I’m now a convert.
Will probably do the same tonight!

RandomMess · 26/04/2020 21:57

Episode 2 - love the yellow dress, totally want it!

Clawdy · 26/04/2020 22:48

Trouble is I don't really know why half the murders are happening, and who is on which side!

RandomMess · 26/04/2020 22:57

Ah well unaffordable and wouldn't fit anyway - I wear tunics as dresses as very vertically challenged 😂

CatAndHisKit · 26/04/2020 23:47

I liked the blue flowery dress on V, that illowy shape looksa best on her, not the mini A-line dresses.

CatAndHisKit · 26/04/2020 23:47

*willowy

Gemma2019 · 27/04/2020 02:10

Well if you fancy the blue flowery number for yourself, it's a mere £595.

Unfortunately I am vertically, horizontally and currently financially challenged so no hope of me copying her wardrobe!

AllTheseThingsThatIHaveNotDone · 27/04/2020 02:47

Took me all week to get to it but I liked episode 2 - Fiona Shaw was an acting masterclass, beautifully done. I liked the new character Jamie, the editor of Bitter Pill (I did wonder whether he would end up being a new love interest for Eve, and then become a target).
I adore Kim Bodnia in this - he is on my current crush list, lovely looking fella. He'd also be my answer for kiss/kill/shag - all of the above as he is a bit of a double-crossing dude Wink
