The new series starts tonight and Jim has got a new dog! I can't wait Grin

I think Horrible Grandma is due back either this week or the next. Shame they haven't yet acknowledged that Jackie's mum has passed away.

Takeitonthechin · 14/04/2020 11:02

CREAMY

fourpeasinapod · 14/04/2020 11:03

@QueenOfTheAndals I know, I loved Nelly. she was a great character.

I think they haven’t written her out this series because the actress was still alive when this series was filmed but she was too ill to take part in filming

fourpeasinapod · 14/04/2020 11:25

I found out that the house they use to film FND is actually a real house in North London. Look up 23 Parkside, London on Google Streetview!

Does anyone know if they actually film inside this house or do they use a studio for indoor scenes?

RaraRachael · 16/04/2020 10:32

I've enjoyed the first 2 episodes of this series more that I thought I would, but last week's was beyond dire. Jim was reasonably funny as an odd man turning up briefly in each episode, but he's gone beyond ridiculous now.
I generally don't like any episodes that feature too much of Jim or guest characters -apart from Mr Morris--

SchadenfreudePersonified · 17/04/2020 13:19

How can you hate the dog ? confused It's gorgeous.

This ^

Does anyone agree with me that they should put ‘Horrible Grandma’ in more scenes?

And this! ^

I LOVE "Horrible Grandma"!

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 17/04/2020 13:51

If I had behaved towards a guest in my parents' house the way those two lads treated the Sally Philips character, there would have been strong words and repercussions.

They were beyond rude from the word go.

It was horrible to watch.

augustusglupe · 17/04/2020 18:06

I loved the Au Pair episode. Totally crazy but then it’s meant to be.

KaronAVyrus · 17/04/2020 18:11

I didn’t enjoy the au pair episode and I normally love Sally Phillips.

The grandma was really the best character. Frances Cuka seemed to be up for anything, she was properly funny. Hopefully the writers will acknowledge her passing.

Flynn999 · 17/04/2020 20:16

I find some of the episodes are great and some I'm a bit 'meh' about.

The au pair one was a bit rubbish, same goes for the bag one.

I really just don't get jim... he just isn't that funny. But I do love horrible grandma.

Slightly disappointed that the girlfriends are actually
Different people, the fact they are both called Lucy I genuinely wanted them to be the same person Grin

Seetheprettysnowdrops · 17/04/2020 21:46

I hope tonight gets back on track after the travesty of last week

Howwible grandma is great.

fourpeasinapod · 17/04/2020 22:38

Awww!! Gutted they killed off Horrible Grandma! She was hilarious

froggers1 · 17/04/2020 22:41

I thought tonight's was great..better than the silly bag one. And my daughter is happy as it was her birthday today and she's chuffed Martin has her birthday 🤣

fourpeasinapod · 17/04/2020 22:42

@froggers1 yes it was brilliant!

midsomermurderess · 17/04/2020 23:09

Horrible Grandma had developed a German accent that she didn't used to have. I found it distracting,

TheChosenTwo · 18/04/2020 00:25

Dds and I have enjoyed watching this series.
I prefer the look of Milson to Wilson, GSDs always look smelly Blush (I am basing this on one I once knew and nothing more than this, but I think Milson looks sweet!).
Horrible grandma has always had that strange clipped accent from what I’m remembering.
I don’t really enjoy the episodes with guest appearances on the whole. Prefer the family together with a bit of Jim thrown in. Martin provides the most comedy value for me.

LHMBF · 18/04/2020 11:23

Last night's was the funniest one of the new series so far I think. Martin is the funniest. Adam and Johnny are beyond annoying.

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/04/2020 12:02

I googled Horrible Grandma and she's had quite the career on stage and screen. One of her first roles was a bit part in Olivier's Richard III! Her daughter is the well known theatre director Marianne Elliott.

midsomermurderess · 18/04/2020 12:26

Clipped, English accent, yes, German/Hungarian (!), 'w's pronounced as 'v', no.

midsomermurderess · 18/04/2020 13:11

(?) not (!).

fourpeasinapod · 18/04/2020 16:38

Disappointed that that will be both grandmothers written out of the show now.

Jackie’s mum will more than likely be killed off in the next series, whenever that may be. I liked horrible grandma for her brutal honesty and I loved Nelly for her warm personality and humour

Chinks123 · 18/04/2020 19:38

Agree last nights was the best so far of the new series, reminded me of past series but they just seem a little harsher to each other now. Last weeks was terrible, honestly awful (imo obviously) I actually got bored and went on my phone, which has never happened before.

EachandEveryone · 18/04/2020 20:37

That house is a twenty minute walk from me.

Poppyholland · 18/04/2020 20:42

@Chinks123 I agree last weeks episode wasn't the best one!

spiderlight · 18/04/2020 21:06

I said the same about Horrible Grandma's accent! It was much more noticeable last night. We've been watching them from the start with DS, who decided he wanted to see what all the fuss was about, and we watched the very first Horrible Grandma episode just before last night's one, so it was really noticeable!
