The new series starts tonight and Jim has got a new dog! I can't wait Grin

Great episode!
I predict a Christmas special with babies Smile

fourpeasinapod · 01/05/2020 22:42

@grafittiartist aww that would be brilliant!

lovinglavidaloca · 01/05/2020 22:43

@fourpeasinapod I was walking up Blush

fourpeasinapod · 01/05/2020 22:46

@lovinglavidaloca I know me too, had a wee tear in my eye! Maybe I’m just too sensitive but I thought it was just the loveliest ending

MaddieElla · 01/05/2020 22:56

That was a lovely episode. I had a tear and laughed out loud several times.

Thought it was a bit stupid them all dancing but when the different music played I had a cry. Then laughed as he dropped the stereo. Final words: shit on it.

Perfect.

MsVestibule · 01/05/2020 22:56

Great episode! Like a lot of people, I've been fairly underwhelmed with this series but there were some proper laugh out loud moments in this and I thought the females played great parts.

lovinglavidaloca · 01/05/2020 22:56

welling* but you knew what I meant!

Glad it wasn’t just me.

TheChosenTwo · 01/05/2020 23:15

I enjoyed this episode more than the others in this series. Not usually a fan when they have guests to dinner but this made us all laugh out loud properly.
Dancing was very cringey but loved the Miike Snow touch. I think this really is the end though with the exception of a Christmas special along the way, there was an air of finality about it all.

fourpeasinapod · 01/05/2020 23:47

there was an air of finality about it all

Yeah me and DH thought the same.

I suppose it has reached the end of its life but it’s still sad all the same, it was a great wee show. I really hope they do a Christmas special

TheChosenTwo · 01/05/2020 23:53

Yes I hope so too, but I hope they don’t leave it so long that people’s expectations are way too high. Remember the eagerly anticipated Gavin and Stacey special?! Dire - had been built up for too long and there was too long a gap. It was the biggest disappointment!!

drigon · 01/05/2020 23:54

Yes, great episode and quite emotional and lovely!

fourpeasinapod · 02/05/2020 00:00

@TheChosenTwo oh yes I remember that - it was rubbish.

So hopefully they don’t do the same with FND.

Is it bad that I keep tearing up every time I think of the end of tonight’s episode? Don’t know what’s wrong with me! Lol

Ginfordinner · 02/05/2020 00:08

IMO the best episode of the series.

I missed the Shalom greeting this series. It wasn't the same without it.

fourpeasinapod · 02/05/2020 00:32

IMO the best episode of the series

It really was - I was so impressed by this one

Runkle · 02/05/2020 00:46

Saved the best til last! Real laugh out loud moments.
Did anyone notice that Adam's Lucy was Rebecca Humphries - Seannnn Walsh's ex who was with him at the time he was on Strictly and cheated with Katya.

EachandEveryone · 02/05/2020 05:59

They werent very Jewish at all were they?🙂 not once did Jackie ask if the girls were Jewish right from when she found out about them. Its the first thing any Mill Hill mother would’ve asked, especially having two sons and even if she wasnt bothered. She would’ve been just a little bit. And, no mazel tov! A standard response to any good news! Even I say it and thats cos Im in Mill Hill and its rubbed off on me!😄

CaptainMyCaptain · 02/05/2020 07:28

I lovely finale to the whole thing, a coming of age for the boys. I don't think they should make any more but I've recorded series 1 to watch again from the beginning.

Optimist1 · 02/05/2020 08:53

Brilliant last episode - the demise of the crumble raised a huge laugh here.

poppym12 · 02/05/2020 10:22

I enjoyed the last episode but laughed far more at the first series shown afterwards. Jim spoke more normally and just seemed like the weird neighbour with a crush on Jackie rather than what the character had become in later series.

changemynamechangemynamewhen · 02/05/2020 12:43

I thought I recognised her Runkle

spiderlight · 02/05/2020 13:14

That definitely felt like a Last One Ever. Loved Martin trying to hide the fact that there was glass in the food. The best episodes are always him trying to get the boys to help him hide something - the fox in the freeazer, the New Scientist hoard. We roared at Jim saying 'Goodbye.....The Lucy' and the puppies were gorgeous.

Deathraystare · 02/05/2020 13:22

I was glad the older stuff was on afterwards. For some strange reason I was sure I had never seen if before though I did remember Jim using their toilet.

Haggisfish · 02/05/2020 13:52

It was martins face when he realised there was glass in the roast chicken, too. The desperation.

fourpeasinapod · 02/05/2020 14:01

Whilst the dance at the end was meant to be a celebration for Adam and Jonny getting girlfriends / becoming dads, it definitely seemed like the producers included that scene as a wee real life goodbye and celebration of the show.

God I will miss FND

cushioncovers · 02/05/2020 15:17

Enjoyed this last episode. Felt like it was more like the earlier shows.
