Okay, I wouldn't normally start an SCD thread this early but Kevin's left and it has just been announced that AJ will leave. This after the BBC announced the returning pros for next season.

That means if Graziano and Gorka have a partner this year, then there will be no male back up pros. I still think Michael from TGD might get asked to join.

What do fellow SCD fans think?

I'm still holding out hope for Rylan and Johannes as a dance couple in a few years time. I think they'd be stunning together.

I would love it if Jamie Laing came back whenever the next series is. He would definitely bring personality

I think that would be nice, since he didn't get to have a go at all.

Kim Wilde is an excellent shout, Bloody Lulu's already done it (she wanted Pash and never got over it) and Toyah I wouldn't mind as long as she can take the scrutiny (Jungle critique of her appearance led to cosmetic treatments iirc).
Sunetra was also unhappy because Brendan was slavedriving/cross about how much training she could commit to alongside Casualty (a shame as I loved her and thought she did well each week). Jerry wasn't unhappy, just refused to train and took Anton to tea instead?
Will Young was clearly unhappy. As was Steve Backshall.
And James Jordan upset Georgina(?) fatshamed her?
So I am not surprised about Laura's disclosure about not playing the game, just surprised she has divulged it now. Many saw her with Brendan and Gio with Anastacia and production changing it after Gio and Laura's friend Georgia splitting. If that was the case, it really was cynical and I cannot blame her for not wanting to do red carpets etc knowing what the headlines would then be. Clever girl. She didn't come across as warm though - haven't seen her present anything. Is she nice?

Lulu was with Brendan and he hated her.

When Lulu was voted off and it was time for the last dance, she went off on her own and danced without him. That just summed her up on the show really. Not a fun partnership for either of them I'm sure.

In fairness, with a foot difference between them, I can see why Lulu was frustrated. They shouldn't do such mishmash of heights, same as when Kristina was with Colin Salmon.
But because she had done well with a hiphop type routine on Let's Dance for Comic Relief Lulu thought she was better than she was/higher billing on the show so clash of the egos. She wanted Pasha, he was paired with Chelsea

It was a trainwreck really - bearing in mind Brendan had been paired with Jo Wood two series before and they had got on really well despite her being crap. Lulu said her and Brendan were both intense and they didn't have humour around each other, started off on the wrong foot, he was way too tall, no chemistry, it was sometimes torture, he wanted to be partnered with Holly originally, she wanted Pasha as they had a similar energy, her and Brendan were often angry at the same time...all this on Loose Women five years ago. I liked Chelsea and Pasha but sometimes wonder how things would have gone with different pros and partners as you only have 'switch up' on DWTS and irish strictly.
Certainly Lulu and Pash look more natural with each other here.

Her dancing off on her own when they were eliminated though. That was pretty awful.

God the judges were arses here, especially Len. They didn't realise Kelly's father was in hospital - he died 2 days later and she withdrew. They had had 8 hours training but Brendan wasn't allowed to disclose why. Len could have a nasty side, still haven't forgiven his comments to Will Young.

The olympians usually take part in Strictly in the same year as the summer olympics, so next year will probably have an olympian in it. This year they wouldn't want to risk injury or a break in their training schedule.

Ooh! That's a really good shout. I think he'd be up for it as he doesn't seem to take himself too seriously and can have a laugh, plus I think he'd want to put the training in and take that part seriously.

For me, it needs to be one that scored badly with the original couple or was long enough ago it might not be remembered. Definitely brave to reuse a song that led to an iconic routine as you are then set up for comparison.

When I went to the live shows I thought Graciano was lovely so I’m pleased he gets a partner he was just so smiley and nice to the audience, I loved his dance with Johannes last year they are best friends and it was so well done. I was surprised at AJ leaving I thought he was one of the best dancers when I saw him live and didn’t expect that but he had so much energy you just had to watch him in the group dances, I hope he doesn’t regret it as it’s a short career.
Would love Glen to come back or Artem their choreography was amazing and so different.
Another vote for BBC to show reruns as filming has stopped on the soaps, they must need something decent to fill the slots!, It’s one the most watched programmes so would love it if they did!

I agree with you that both had very creative choreo in the UK but having seen them on DWTS in the States, their routines were often missing something. Because Val, Maks, Derek and Mark got so many decent partners Gleb and Artem often got the short straw.

Would love to see Sam Warburton or Shane Williams.
