What did I watch?

The music videos absolutely floored me! how amazing were they? Cat lady and her husband sitting gushing over their video while the film maker was sitting trying to hold in all the cringe

That funeral speech! who the hell jokes about their husbands testicles at their funeral??? With his mum there? And why wasn’t his mum appalled? (Was she high? She looked high) and then the singing? It was at this point I decided it was definitely all staged and they were actors. But no. It’s all real.

What about sleazy McMaster crook Lowe sleazing over the new nanny right to his pregnant wife’s face! Ewww. How are women attracted to these men?

I loved this one.

I just watched the Louis Theroux doc, we all spent the whole programme laughing at Louis' face and him nearly shitting himself holding the animals (we've been on lockdown too long obviously!)

And Joe was a POLICEMAN???!!!!

How was Carol different from the others, her zoo was just under the banner of rescuing? She seemed to love the adulation from her fans/husband. Portrayed herself as this innocent, delicate thing but I reckon she's ruthless.
Doc Antle was very charismatic, could totally see people slavishly following him. Jeff, urgh what was that girl thinking, bellend! I think Joe was set up, the funeral was 😵, Travis was very good looking, so tragic.

Doc Antle was very charismatic

Oh I thought he was really aggressive. Not in a physical way, but his language and the way he presented. He got really angry when he thought the guy was tricking him into saying he ran a cult.

Carole objected to the breeding ,she had rescue animals but didn't breed.

She objected to the breeding so much that she released a video on how to care for baby tigers! 🙄

Im not saying Ant wasn't disgusting but I could see him as a cult leader, you could tell he was manipulative! Charisma can have negative connotations. He made sure never to trip himself up with the doc maker & his operation was far more sophisticated than the others.

Even if Joe wasn't breeding, Carol would still have gone after him as I don't think she's particularly motivated by the animals.

Carole reminds me of one of those Black Widow type women. They are very beautiful (she was a blonde slim beauty back in her younger years) and knows how to charm and make men feel wanted loved, needed etc. Then they go in for the kill whilst acting all innocent.

Definitely. I think it was very telling that even the woman who escaped his cult was still very guarded in what she said. She alluded to being told if she slept with antle her living conditions would improve, she said she certainly didn’t want to sleep with him but then she wasn’t clear on whether she did. (Fair enough- that’s her business- not ours) and also about what happened to her favourite tiger, she says nobody asked. But I reckon she knew more than she was saying. She seemed afraid to say too much.

I thought this too. I can’t think of any other reason why he would have hung around for longer than a few days. He had a job in walmart, he was clearly bright, articulate, and had potential. Why would he be bothered with all that icky business?

I agree op. It's interesting that the doc touched on the long hours, bad pay of the workers & highlighted the fact Carols did the same but for free.

If I was 19 and he offered me a nice house, play-time with baby tigers and the answers to the secrets of the universe, I definitely would've signed up . I was absolute fodder for the likes of Doc Antle when I was younger.

Happily, I'm now in my 30s and realise that men like that are empty inside and damaging for your mental health. Women need to get him a wide berth and then keep going.

I wonder about the relationship between Joe and his various partners. Was it all basically drug prostitution/drug haze, or were they were bisexual and actually interested in him?
