Thought better start a thread as no one else had

Next sat looks good - with poor ruby struggling to juggle work and harmony

And matty pushes jade to the limit

ignore me. i thought you meant Ruby’s
mum Lavender, not Bluebell’s mum from the last episode.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/05/2020 10:21

I said ages ago Ruby’s mum was the Mitchell’s Ritchie

Ps thanks for link and back stories

Sounds like a good episode

Wonder if will ever be shown on iPlayer or you tube etc

I unfortunately didn't hear the voiceover explanation at the start on Saturday so spent a good 20 minutes questioning my sanity, my sky box and then searching iplayer to try and work out what was going on, bit gutted as sounds like we missed a good episode!

I'm usually a defender of the BBC and what decisions they make, but I'm at a loss to understand their reasoning behind not showing that episode. Their potential viewers will mostly be those who've watched Casualty before and recognise it to be fictional. A small minority of people may have decided that tonight's the night to watch something new and to give Casualty a go - the name gives a fairly good indication of the programme's setting and storylines.

If it was the pandemic storyline that they thought it was inappropriate to show, they're insulting viewer intelligence that we cannot cope with seeing a fictionalised situation (no matter how closely it mirrors current events), along with characters' reactions - be they brave, reckless or just plain hysterical - to the situation. Rant over.

purpleme12 · 09/05/2020 15:57

It's clear from people's reactions and comments on their Facebook page every time they post about that episode that the VAST majority are so annoyed by the decision.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/05/2020 16:53

And if it was a pandemic - then it was solved in 50 mins 😂

Yes 😆

MrsHoolie · 10/05/2020 00:19

And the next episode is not til may 23rd!

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 10/05/2020 07:38

I think they must be rationing the episodes out now that they're not making any new ones. I'm not impressed that the Marty storyline has been treated with such indifference, to the extent that we didn't find out what had happened to his dad or with the HIV test during that "recap".

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/05/2020 14:38

So take it his dad died

This thread dropped off my watch list and I've just had to trawl through Telly Addicts to find you again! I've just come to post it's on tonight, I see OP has beaten me to it (although MN won't show me when you posted!)

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 23/05/2020 22:16

I'm still so pissed off about the decision to not broadcast the episode that I haven't watched the two most recent ones.

purpleme12 · 23/05/2020 22:17

I am pissed off too believe you me

But I love it so I can't stop watching!

Redglitter · 23/05/2020 23:13

Ended up abandoning this episode. Too much subtitling. Found it really irritating

purpleme12 · 23/05/2020 23:30

Yes it really made me not like Fenisha

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 24/05/2020 08:21

I didn't like Fenisha from the first time we met her, but then I really liked Ruby so am resenting her replacement, maybe unfairly. But even bearing in mind I haven't watched the most recent episodes because I'm sulking with Casualty Grin, she really seems to think she's all that, doesn't she? Would do her so much good if either Ethan or Will had said: you know what, I'm not that fussed, thanks.

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 24/05/2020 08:28

I always watch with subtitles anyway because I'm a bit cloth-eared. I thought maybe the subtitles were there in a "hearing loss awareness" sort of way? They seem to forget about Jade's hearing aid for weeks at a time so it was nice for her to get some signing screen time.

Loved Jan in this episode. I fully shared her frustration with Fenisha!

purpleme12 · 24/05/2020 09:11

No other characters have acted like that in Casualty when they've done something like that and had a dressing down. They might have been annoyed but no one's ever acted like Fenisha has with Jan

It was refreshing to have a Charlie free episode this week.

I think Dylan could do with a meaty storyline.

Will Connie and Jacob ever get back together? And why is her daughter never mentioned!?
