Thought better start a thread as no one else had

Next sat looks good - with poor ruby struggling to juggle work and harmony

And matty pushes jade to the limit

@Blondeshavemorefun

Also don’t get why wasn’t shown. The ppe suits ?

Did I miss Marty’s dad dying ?

I don’t think he did although I was certain that I read, around when the episode was missed out, that part of the storyline was Marty’s Dad dying.

All I remember is that he said to Julia that his Dad was expected to be okay, and Jacob said he was responding well to the antidote.

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/09/2020 12:40

Seems I can’t quote a quote reply

Felt sure in the episode we saw they said Marty’s dad was dead abs he was upset - obviously

Well, I've just caught up with the missing episode and am utterly baffled as to why they wouldn't have shown it at the time.

OK, so it had people in huge hazmat suits in it - and...? Nothing you don't see in half a dozen different films shown every single day on one of the eight billion channels available now.

But seriously - what on earth was the rationale behind pulling it?

Good to see it at last, although it felt a bit pointless at this stage.

purpleme12 · 03/10/2020 22:01

It was how dramatic and tense it was, the references to lockdown, the PPE, no one allowed to go anywhere, the problems like with Jade that wearing PPE brought when this was supposed to be shown I believe in the height of the pandemic before we'd opened up everything again. The BBC thought there was too many parallels to the current situation (or then situation) and too insensitive

CherryValanc · 04/10/2020 08:39

I've only just caught up on it. Also don't get why it was pulled - it wasn't even a virus!!!

I didn't think it was a great episode, it felt like they were trying to make it dramatic but just not hitting the mark. I snorted at Connie 'serious' announcement. I'm a right cynic mind you!!

Anyway, what I want to know did Marty get the results of his HIV test at any point? I don't recall iit being in any episode after this was supposed to be aired.

(Also, Will was a right petulant prick!!)

Sojo88 · 07/10/2020 21:21

I've only just caught up with the latest episode - and I mean the most recently filmed one, not the one that they've recently shown which should originally have been aired back in May. I'm confused though - what was Noel's mistake? He said he didn't mention triage to the lady and I know what triage is but...she knew she would get seen eventually and she told Noel she was going to wait, it was her decision to leave (although I know she had to to collect her granddaughter). So what good would it have done if Noel had mentioned triage to her? And why was Noel suddenly so convinced that she was really ill? I mean she really just had a bump on her head, she didn't appear ill otherwise so I don't understand why he suddenly panicked.

Maybe I missed something, but I just finished that episode and don't get what the issue was. Can anyone remember and explain to me exactly what his mistake was?

m00rfarm · 07/10/2020 21:31

Connie sounded drunk throughout this episode and slurring her words. Or was it just the sound on my TV?

purpleme12 · 07/10/2020 21:31

From what I remember it was a head injury and head injuries have the possibility of being dangerous. And if he had triaged her with all the info the doctors might have decided to see her quite soon because of the head injury and then everything would have been sorted

purpleme12 · 07/10/2020 21:32

I think he just realised his mistake that he hadn't triaged her when he realised she'd gone

Sojo88 · 07/10/2020 21:37

@purpleme12 oh ok - and then maybe she'd have been seen sooner? OK that does make some sense, thank you!

@m00rfarm I think I did notice that slightly in the last scene? Bit weird!

m00rfarm · 07/10/2020 21:51

She had that "if I talk slowly and carefully it will sound ok" way of speaking, and was still slurring.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/10/2020 22:30

Sure Marty said his test was clear

OP posts:
Dailyhandtowelwash · 09/10/2020 22:07

If she hadn’t been been triaged, she’d never had been seen at all. She’d missed out the first bit of the process so wasn’t in line to see anyone. Obviously his panic about a seemingly minor injury was disproportionate.

Sojo88 · 10/10/2020 00:16

Yes, I see - I guess I'm partly surprised that he didn't triage her as presumably that's the first thing he does with everyone that comes to the desk? It seems quite a big thing to forget - and why wouldn't he remember when she came up and reminded him she was still there? But yes I do see now what his mistake was - just not sure it was very clear in the episode!

Dailyhandtowelwash · 10/10/2020 00:20

He wouldn’t triage her, a nurse would. But the procedures at Holby are loose at the best of times. Did he not add her to a list to be called? Was she meant to present herself somewhere? We shall never ever know as no one else has ever been triaged.

purpleme12 · 10/10/2020 00:32

He takes their details doesn't he puts them into some sort of system I imagine then they go over to the doctors or whoever who decides who gets to be seen next.

I believe he was distracted because she was quite flirty with him

Rubybluesy · 10/10/2020 00:49

Has Charlie gone

purpleme12 · 10/10/2020 01:06

No he's still there

Dailyhandtowelwash · 10/10/2020 07:38

He put her details in though - we saw him asking her name and typing. So it’s the mysterious next stage that was missing. None of the regular staff are ever on triage.

QueenofmyPrinces · 23/10/2020 22:39

I’ve just caught up and feel so confused....

The end scene, when Will cottoned on to Ethan being the dad, he was shouting at Ethan as though Ethan had done something wrong.....,but didn’t Fenisha and Ethan sleep together before she even met Will?

And then Ethan said, “It happened weeks ago!” - but it was months ago wasn’t it?

Sojo88 · 24/10/2020 12:30

Will was definitely being unfair - I think Ethan was just too nice to argue back! I got the impression Fenisha slept with them both within a few weeks, maybe even less than that?

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/10/2020 21:47

I think it was same week or so

She slept with Ethan as a one off

Then met other one. Went out/slept with him

Then saw Ethan at work and it clicked

OP posts:
purpleme12 · 24/10/2020 21:57

God I remember watching when Fenisha realised Ethan worked at the hospital where she'd just started and I thought it was so long ago I couldn't even remember who she was to start with!
Shows how much I know!

I've had two lots of Casualty-related excitement in the past few days. Went out for lunch last week to a place beloved by media types and there was a guy on the next table with a BBC lanyard on, ringing people up, introducing himself as 'M from BBC Casualty' and arranging use of a barber's shop as a green-room for a location shoot. Then on Saturday DH went to clean up a massive dog shite someone had left outside our house and came back in to announce that they were filming at the top of our road, so if you see a scene with a woman pushing a pram across a road, look out for my poor DH with a shovel in the background!

Great excitement! And the possibility that the dog owner responsible for the shit may be revealed in the background of a Casualty scene? Grin
