Thought better start a thread as no one else had

Next sat looks good - with poor ruby struggling to juggle work and harmony

And matty pushes jade to the limit

@WelcomeToGreenvale

Robyn's been the one you can count on for a good Daily Mail rant for a while now.

Just want happiness for Noel :(

Has she? I evidently missed that!!
purpleme12 · 23/08/2020 18:51

I wouldn't say she's one we can count on for a daily mail rant either ...

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/09/2020 21:42

Finally caught up

When will casualty be back

OP posts:
purpleme12 · 02/09/2020 21:45

They haven't given an actual date it just says autumn

Sojo88 · 16/09/2020 14:51

Apparently they're going to be showing the episode that we couldn't see back in May! They're broadcasting it on the 26th so at least that's something.

purpleme12 · 16/09/2020 14:55

Yes I saw this! I honestly thought they weren't going to listen to us all saying they should have shown it but it appears they have in the end!

Sojo88 · 16/09/2020 14:59

I was hoping they would eventually - it's sooner than I expected actually! Although I always found it a bit patronising they thought we couldn't decide for ourselves whether we wanted to watch it at the time!

purpleme12 · 16/09/2020 15:01

Yes I agree with you. Should have shown it in the first place

I thought if they were going to show it they'd have done it by now but I'm pleased we're going to see it finally

TheOneTheOnlyPedroPony · 16/09/2020 15:13

Haha was just coming on to say this!

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/09/2020 20:30

Fab. Should tie up some loose ends

Looking forward to the missing episode.

In the meantime I've been watching old Casualty on uktvplay and really enjoying it, saw series 16 and halfway into 17 now, but Jack and Nikki have to be the most hateable main characters in the show. Jack's vile and moreso since his dad (the incredible Philip Martin Brown) has shown up, and I mostly hate Nikki for that vile face she does whenever she's annoyed with someone (and for how stupid she is to have anything to do with Jack).

On the other hand I'm in love with Lara Stone so it balances out. Amazing paramedic team too, Nikki excluded. Jeff and Dixie will always be my favourites but Comfort, Fin and Josh are up there. And of course Harry Harper is great fun as the man in charge, so far from the clinical leads of recent years.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/09/2020 12:47

It’s on this Saturday but my planner hadn’t picked it up so had to manually do record and series link

So check yours has

I’m completely bewildered why this didn’t get shown at the time, unless the PPE might have proved controversial. Given how many plot points we lost by not seeing it on broadcast!

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/09/2020 17:20

I haven’t seen yet but think it was something like that. May cause offence

I was surprised to see that Ethan found out about Fenisha's pregnancy - from the later programmes it didn't appear that he knew.

Well probably because a programme about a potentially fatal "invisible" threat (in a hospital) resulting in people being forcibly isolated/in hazmat suits and having to be decontaminated might have sparked a little bit of panic among the population at the time?

Dontlickthetrolley · 27/09/2020 18:51

@Optimist1

He knew, but she told him she was having a termination so as far as he is concerned there is no baby. She decided at the clinic she didn't want a termination but hasn't told anyone either. Even though she's about 4/5 months?
MissEliza · 27/09/2020 21:12

So is that the last episode they'd filmed?

purpleme12 · 27/09/2020 21:21

The one that was shown this Saturday wasn't the last one they filmed.
It was the missing one in this series. They didn't show it because the bbc decided there were too many parallels with it and with the pandemic at the time. So it was just missed out with a free seconds of voiceover explaining that at the start of the next episode a few months ago.

Really? We assumed when it wasn’t shown that it was about some sort of pandemic issue. It was a deliberate poisoning using phosphate that affected four people and was identified and contained in under 30 minutes. The PPE is the only thing that links it to any real life event.
FairfaxAikman · 29/09/2020 09:59

I can actually see why they thought it might be viewed as insensitive.
Prior to the reveal there was a huge focus on people's hands and the transmission method.

In light of the high death toll back when it was due to be screened it may have been triggering for some people.
Right decision to screen it now though. It should not have been condemned to be "lost".

purpleme12 · 29/09/2020 19:03

It was very dramatic

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/09/2020 19:24
