I think that happens a lot with situations like hers,they need somewhere big enough to film etc so the channel pays the rent/mortgage. TLC does it a lot.

Also how can they apply for schools in Surrey with a Hertfordshire postcode??

I did wonder why the Schools Advisor* or whoever she was didn't point out to Sam that unless you're actually living in on near catchment for the schools you want, you'll be right at the back of the queue and won't get a place unless the school is undersubscribed.

*I wonder how much you get paid for trotting out the information about schools admissions that everyone else knows already? I can feel a career change coming on!

Absolutely howled at Sam and the "this is the launch of your edit!" Does she really think two children aged 4 and 2 are going to have the slightest idea what that means?!

I liked the fact the new house for Billy and Greg looked a lot like their own house, just slightly bigger so not a mansion. Not a lot of need for the voiceover (Sykes) to point out it was a 7 figure house.

I run past Billie and Greg's new house every day. I only know this because my daughter was watching tonight and asked if I knew it. It's a huge plot so will be interesting to see what they do with it. Probably not to my taste though! All quite low key in the road so I'm sure there will be planning restrictions. No work has started yet.

I think it's going to be a fantastic house so long as their planning permission is approved. I wonder how much they'll spend though.
Are we any wiser as to why Sam & Paul have moved to Surrey? Simply because they deem it a nicer area?

I've watched a couple of episodes with my daughter now. It's strangely addictive! Sam's lack of knowledge about applying for school was surely just to make good TV how could she not know any of that. Wouldn't Billie have told her as Nellie is in a local school. They must follow a script. It's all made up but they're quite happy to make themselves look stupid . Expect she's moving to Surrey to make a story for the show. Then in the next series she will move back!

I found it quite funny that B&G kept banging on about the house being “really really old”. I was expecting some sort of derelict Tudor number - and then they show us round their new purchase, which is probably roughly the same age as their current house, it just hasn’t been done up in a long time! Ooh I hope they keep the avocado bathroom!
