Keanu is 20 : he was 19 when he started his affair with Sharon a while back.

kevintheorangecarrot · 25/02/2020 20:21

I am severely deaf, so this has brought it all home. So accurate with the muffling sounds! Also does anyone think Gray did what he instructed Whit and Mick to say/do on purpose? He really is a vindictive, nasty little man!

The80sweregreat · 25/02/2020 20:31

Not sure about Gray : seems his either a poor lawyer or playing games or both!

meow1989 · 25/02/2020 20:44

Is it Grey being a bad lawyer or the script writers?
Surely he was just trying to account for the fact that the police will find out that Mick was with Whitney? They need to be seen to be cooperating. It's not great but what else where they supposed to do?

iknowimcoming · 25/02/2020 22:22

I assume gray has been brought in to defend Whitney so he gets super stressed and takes it out on poor Chantal and her kids (he shouted at them tonight didn't he) - I think that's the first time we've seen him direct anger towards the children, perhaps this could be the turning point for Chan? When he said to her do you have any idea what a terrible day I'm facing - I though, well not as bad as poor Whitney eh? Or sharon for that matter!

EmeraldShamrock · 25/02/2020 22:31

The last text on Ben's phone from Callum said 3 days ago. The murder squad who attended Whitney's crime scene must have been useless to not realise Leo had been in the attic, surely they'd sweep the entire house and spot the bloody hole, or footprints in Dot's dusty attic, surely he left a crisp packet up there. 🤔
Jean is so beautiful it is true beauty shines from inside a person, I hope she gets good news after her treatment.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 25/02/2020 23:38

No one seems to be particularly bothered that Sharon has lost her son, and they don’t really seem that concerned for her welfare, it’s all a bit yesterday’s news, all they have done is raised a glass to him in the Vic! and life is back to normal.

Eastie77 · 26/02/2020 00:21

Even when they raised a glass to Denny the pub was virtually empty and it was all a bit half hearted. It's quite weird considering a young child has died. No-one has passed round to see Sharon to offer condolences. No visits from police, officials, plans to see Denny's body, funeral arrangements etc. No mention of Michelle and Vicky calling to see how she is. Just Kathy making endless cups of tea and soon gloom laden Peter will join the house of fun.

Why aren't Walford's finest looking for Keanu - Stuart must have told them he kidnapped Callum.

Gray is an awful human being but it seems as if he is doing his best for Whitney and Mick?

Kwkwjwkek · 26/02/2020 00:57

Anyone know what happened to cherry?

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 26/02/2020 01:00

I found it very odd as well Eastie Sharon has basically just been left to get on with it without so much as a cursory “sorry for your loss” from anyone apart from Karen and that’s only because she bumped into her while Sharon was out walking the baby (which in itself seemed a bit odd) In Eastenders of old the square would have come together to support her, Dr Legg and Dot would have been leading the charge, it would have been the main story, it feels like a sideline story already. At least Lexi allegedly she’d a tear in her room.....

tobee · 26/02/2020 01:30

Sharon would also be feeling physically a bit rubbish having just given birth? The baby is extremely quiet. Also quite big fitting into that suit? I was 20 years younger when I had my last dc. I was barely able to function at first. Yet is physically up and about with snazzily dressed baby Kenny. Not lying on the sofa with nappies and muslins everywhere and midwives popping in. And that's not including the grief from Denny. Where did the pram come from etc?

Gray annunciates very weirdly. I can't work out if he's a not great actor or because Gray is constantly putting on a "great guy" act - always playing a part.

I'm hoping that when Karen has asked about the baby's name we all shouted out "yes, Kenny!" GrinGrinGrin

tobee · 26/02/2020 01:33

You'd have thought Sharon would have a family liaison officer or is that just murder victims families? Or I know that they have special midwives for grief counselling but maybe she falls in between these situations?

The80sweregreat · 26/02/2020 06:34

Gray hurt Chan's arm at new year I think ; her sling should be off by now? Did she go on holiday like it ? Maybe the actress likes wearing it so they let her keep it? 😂

Surely someone would stay with Sharon ? I'd be a wreck if this happened to me ( or even a bit of it ) but they are all a bit ' hey ho, lets all move on' ! Even Whitney's detective said ' party boat' and she must know what happened to said boat?
Maybe they are so used to death and murder on the square it's all just another day? Callum would be dead by now in real life but even I'm past caring! If they cba to go and search again then why should I worry? LolSmile

itsgettingweird · 26/02/2020 07:24

I thought they seemed to be showing Sharon as just carrying on in a daze and it not really hitting home yet. She has a new baby so has to get up iyswim? I like the fact she's allowing Karen to be part of Kennys life. They also mentioned that an inquest will be opened so I think that will raise some of the emotions again. Well alongside Karen telling her Phil was responsible!

SoupDragon · 26/02/2020 07:28

Yes, I think Sharon is just on autopilot.

APatchyTomCat · 26/02/2020 07:38

Keanu is 20?

Blimey, hard paper round.

Eastie77 · 26/02/2020 09:12

Sharon on auto-pilot is understandable but the fact she's sitting alone in Ian's front room with no visitors is a bit odd. I suppose it points to the fact she has no real family on the Square now. EE is also missing the strong matriarchal figures they used to have who would be helping her now.

The80sweregreat · 26/02/2020 09:21

The actor who plays Keanu is about twenty six I believe. When he told Sharon he was 19 even she was shocked ( when they first started the affair ages ago)

tobee · 26/02/2020 10:01

I know Sharon has to get up but there's getting up and getting up isn't there? Or was it just me that went from bed to sofa for the first few weeks days after babies? GrinThe autopilot idea fits. But, if I were Ian and Kathy, I'd be going in relays to Bobby and the other staying at home with Sharon. Just to keep an eye. Arranging for neighbours to do a stint; people bringing around batch cooked shepherds pie and stuff!! I suppose though there's so much else going on in other people's lives on the square.

tobee · 26/02/2020 10:04

Strong matriarchal figures to help Sharon:-
Kathy ✅
Big Mo ❌
Shirley ❌

Even Kathy's not 100% onside.

numberonecook · 26/02/2020 10:08

I think Sharon is going to reject baby Kenny as it’s too painful to look at him, maybe she’ll leave him with Karen then he turns out to be Phils? Imagine his reaction to Karen bringing up his baby?

Do think Ben got an appointment rather quickly. Usually these things take at least six weeks, unless he went private?

I do hope mick and Linda sort it out and she gets the help she needs :(

The80sweregreat · 26/02/2020 10:41

Bobby and peter both look bemused by everything!
Whitney looks rough bless her. She's another one that could do with a hug.

Eastie77 · 26/02/2020 10:45

Kathy should in theory be a good support figure. She was Angie's best friend and has known Sharon since she was a child (which makes it a bit weird that Sharon is married to her ex husband). She's a bit wishy washy though and has a tendency to gloss over everything and pretend it's all ok. And I really don't think someone who let her own children think she was dead for 20 odd years is ideal!
