I haven’t enjoyed it as much as the previous series but I so wanted to. Last Tango has been a wonderful programme. I hope Sally Wainwright creates more stories and it can return in better shape.

unique1986 · 15/03/2020 21:19

The writer I think was more focused on Gentleman Jack which I lost interest halfway through anyway.

Skybluepink123 · 15/03/2020 21:38

I think it’s been silly when the young boy drove the car on the motorway and to the coast. There’s been too much focus on this rather than the usual characters. I want to know more about their lives, we’ve invested 5 series in them!

unique1986 · 15/03/2020 21:44

These scenes are too long!

unique1986 · 15/03/2020 21:45

Yeah more like 4 series..

Skybluepink123 · 15/03/2020 21:45

Mmm. I agree.

outofyourhands · 15/03/2020 21:46

Sorry but this is a load of bollocks.

Skybluepink123 · 15/03/2020 21:58

It is, isn’t it. I’m so disappointed.

Skybluepink123 · 15/03/2020 21:58

Everything has been rushed through it seems.

Sarcelle · 15/03/2020 22:06

This has been a weird and pointless series.

CaptainMyCaptain · 15/03/2020 22:09

It was all a bit rushed but at least the loose ends were more or less tied up. We could easily have lost the Artful Dodger character, he was only there to get Ted to Bridlington.

PsychoWiener · 15/03/2020 22:20

Well, I really enjoyed it🤷‍♀️so sad for Ted but I think he just wanted to be with his wife in the end. Celia and Alan dancing made me cry and I just think yes it's abit silly in places but it's escapism! Just enjoy the silliness and don't read too much into it. It was just what I needed ☺️

ConstancetheGardener · 15/03/2020 23:32

Yes I cried at the end when they danced together . I think it must be having the covid thing hovering over us all that's made me weep at strange things , last night I cried at Foster and Allen singing Maggie on Pointless Celebrities ! Get a grip woman !

Snugglepiggy · 16/03/2020 06:25

Bucking the trend but I really enjoyed that last episode.Yes the trip to Bridlington was far fetched and took up a lot of time but the dialogue and relationship between Ted and Harrison was heartwarming. As was Alan and Celia's chat in the church where they agreed to disagree and compromise.Maybe it's because I'm from the exact area it's filmed but Sally Wainwright has a way with words that I love. And having rewatched all the other series recently can forgive any weaknesses in this one for some truly sublime writing, and acting in previous ones.

SoupDragon · 16/03/2020 07:05

I enjoyed it. Maybe because I'm generally not bothered about "deep" drama or realism in these kinds of programmes. It was beautifully acted, written and filmed. That was enough for me on a Sunday night! I'm not sure I"m looking forward to it's replacement next week.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 16/03/2020 07:59

It's a drama with a quality cast that really does deliver. Yes, the seaside and church scenes were sublimely done.

I was thinking how poignant for Timothy West to be playing Ted as someone with dementia when of course, in reality, his wife, Prunella Scales, has it.

I almost had a notion that Gillian and Caroline might end up as a couple. Fanciful?

Pebble21uk · 16/03/2020 09:14

This series certainly hasn't been the best, but there were some beautiful moments last night, some great scenes and it was the only thing yesterday which took my mind off the news, so I'm not complaining!

Susiesoap7 · 16/03/2020 09:35

I loved it all! Cosy viewing for Sunday night, but I'm from Yorkshire so at bit biased

outofyourhands · 16/03/2020 09:53

Absolutely agree that it's the ultimate comfort, cozy viewing on a shitty Sunday night.

But if you look back to the storylines we had in earlier series, this one really just feels a bit rubbish.

MadisonAvenue · 16/03/2020 09:55

I've really enjoyed it but could've done without Harrison.

StSaulOfSnacks · 16/03/2020 10:27

Was happy with that. This series redeemed itself by giving so much time to that scene in the church. 2 elderly characters sitting still in a church and talking. And it was riveting. Superb acting and writing.

CaptainMyCaptain · 16/03/2020 13:16

I liked the way it ended with the original two characters.

Rockbird · 16/03/2020 13:20

It was ok but not enough of Gillian and Caroline, they're great together. I quite liked the Harrison story.

diddl · 16/03/2020 19:11

Boring old fart here, but for me it would have been nice if they'd used bus/train for Bridlington!

Was the kitchen fitter not around to see Harrison with Ted?

Will they call the baby Ted.

Best line for me-

John-"oh is Gillian here?"GrinGrin

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 16/03/2020 19:18

Best bit for me was John's response to Lawrence's question of whether they were getting back together.

An odd series with a lot of stories left hanging unresolved

Ellie has realised Gillian killed Eddie

Ruth pouring beer into the petrol cap

Baby born without much fanfare and unnamed

Did Gillian keep the farm?

Felt like 2 episodes were missing
