I think she was taking the pill. The blind lady Marion said to her at the beginning'not everyone wants to take the pill'.

What did dr mcnulty do that was wrong? I was confused.

Dr McNulty gave the lady in labour, Mrs Smith, an episiotomy "to speed the second stage up" unnecessarily

He was off his face on pethidine, and performed an unnecessary episiotomy.

The glass scene made me shout. The cat gave me a look.

My cat bullied me off the chair half way through so I had to sit on the floor. Loved the toddler with bells!

I think he also gave her the episiotomy to speed things up so he could keep the pethidine for himself. I’m sure that’s where he got the vial at the end from.

And the way the toddler’s Mum admitted it was a bit annoying. But no more annoying than the average toddler I bet

The speed at which dr mcpethadine is taking drugs and making dodgy mistakes he won’t last through the next episode which is a real shame as I was hoping dr Turner would get the break —and so would we—
It’s interesting how they’ve set him up alongside sister frances and not one of the non-nuns that seems to be ruling him out of a romance.

Also the DV mum escaping to Margate with an aunt is an awful lot cheerier than the S1 DV mum and her tragic ending. There is more hope in the 60s

My friend was born in the 70s and both her parents were blind. Don't think it was seen as much of an issue then, although I suppose health visitors would have assessed them maybe.

Shame the new Dr is an addict, he's not exactly subtle about it though is he! Will clearly get caught pretty quickly.
