Jane Grin I know! Disgraceful!!

Also he'll have to "give his teeth an extra good brush" - as I say to my DS when he's been eating crap.

Thanks all! Electricity came back at 11.30pm last night.
Now got to try to catch up on the tv progs I missed last night - Endeavour, Midwife and Pale Horse.....I've loved Rufus Sewell since Middlemarch Wink

kazzaD66 · 10/02/2020 14:00

Private Just seen your comment on another thread. I loved Cadfael. Have all the books and Sean Pertwee (as Hugh Beringer, wasn't it?) was very easy on the eye. Lovely voice aswell Grin

PrivateSpidey · 10/02/2020 16:22

Glad your power's back on kazza - hope you've caught up on your viewing!!

Haha yes I love a bit of monastery-based detective work Grin with "interfering monk" Cadfael.

My DSis and I also used to be quite fond of Hugh Beringar - I think it was the mediaeval bowl cut that did it Grin

Btw I saw Marin Cilic has just tweeted: "Parenthood: when leaving the house becomes a special occasion" Grin aw. Very true in the early days!!

Well done Gael. You need to start winning them now!

PrivateSpidey · 10/02/2020 22:17

Bloody hell - that is amazing! I agree, it would be great to see him win a few more! Come on Gael!!

OP posts:
magimedi · 11/02/2020 08:42

Would love to see him win a slam. I remember the first time I saw him - French Open 2008 & Federer beat him (just) in the semis in 4 sets. I remember thinking he was going to win everything!

Raahh · 11/02/2020 13:39

I am bored with this weather now.

Well done to Gael- it is a massive achievement really, isn't it?

PrivateSpidey · 11/02/2020 21:53

I'm so over it as well Raahh - I've said the same thing about 5 times today! Ugh. Stupid winter.

I'm still marvelling at Monfils having 16 consecutive years of finals. It's true magi, about him looking like he would win everything - I think as a junior, he did win loads of stuff iirc.

He's one of those players who's better than the number of titles he's won suggests - if I haven't totally mangled that sentence Hmm. He should have won more, is what I'm trying to say Grin Like Grigor.

I blame that pesky Big Three.

Still. There's still time. Right??

I’m also bored of this weather - we had snow today and it’s so cold and windy - I haven’t left the house so feeling a bit stir crazy - I need some tennis to entertain me Smile

I was surprised at the Gael final thing - cute about Marins baby as well

JaneJeffer · 11/02/2020 23:53

I wish there was some tennis on too. Between the weather and politics I've had enough! But Rafa very kindly decided to cheer me up.

Fizzywinegum · 12/02/2020 08:13

Ooh thank you Jane - that’s cheered me up - wish I was there!

It’s snowing again and I’ve got to go out Sad. I’ve got to brave the bus (if they’re running) - don’t want to risk taking the car. I will dream about being on a boat with Rafa while I trudge through the snow Grin

kazzaD66 · 12/02/2020 08:30

Is Rotterdam on Amazon Prime? Evans is playing Khachanov today after the latter put out Foggy yesterday.

DH is still home and now decorating the smallest bedroom. He did have a break yesterday afternoon and we watched back Endeavour huddled around the pc, as we couldn't get ITV Hub (or whatever it is these days) on the tv via DS's ancient playstation!

PrivateSpidey · 12/02/2020 09:19

Yep, Rafa's out there living his best life, diving off yachts and whatnot, and we're here battling this never ending winter!! Well as long as he's enjoying himself Grin

Good luck with your journey Fizzy. We had a bit of snow yesterday but it hasn't stuck. It's still v windy though. And freezing.

kazza yes Rotterdam is on prime. I might watch Evans v Khachanov later as well...

Saw the last two games of the Evans match. Good win for Dan, in front of three men and a dog Confused

Dan's grey t shirt (M&S accordingto DH) matched the court Grin

Medvedev now needs to change something up because he's on his way out otherwise!

JaneJeffer · 12/02/2020 21:09

Well done Dan.

Raahh · 13/02/2020 19:02

Ooh, I have just seen that Bedene has beaten Tsitsipas.

Feels ages since I saw any tennis, even though it really isn't Grin.

PrivateSpidey · 13/02/2020 20:06

Did he now - Tsitsipas hasn't had the best start to the year, has he? Confused

I am relying on my GCSE German to mention this next piece of info, so take it with a pinch of salt, but I think Kerber and Zverev are talking about playing mixed doubles together in Tokyo Smile Would love that.

They played in the Hopman Cup last year iirc.

JaneJeffer · 13/02/2020 22:47

That would be wunderbar Private

Raahh · 16/02/2020 19:33

Monfils is on a bit of roll isn't he? Well done Gael.

And my favourite Norwegian Casper Ruud Grin has won in Argentina.

JaneJeffer · 16/02/2020 19:49

He is! Come on Gael.

Hope none of you have been blown away. The wind is driving my dog crazy today. He's having panic attacks.

Raahh · 16/02/2020 20:07

Oh, my dog keeps going to the patio- and realising that he doesn't want to go out in the rain after all Grin.

PrivateSpidey · 16/02/2020 21:08

Hi all - not been blown away as yet but got soaked earlier Hmm

I had in mind a nice cosy day indoors, and was sort of planning in the back of my mind to watch the Rotterdam final... But ended up being dragged out to the cinema and it was chucking it down when we came out. And saw no tennis.

Anyway well done Gael. Jane your post about the consecutive years in finals must have spurred him on Grin

I see Kim Clijsters begins her comeback next week against Muguruza - not exactly a nice easy start for her then!! I wonder how she'll get on? Hope she does well, I'm really interested to see how it goes for her.

Mac is 61 today Shock

magimedi · 16/02/2020 22:12

Mac is 61 today

And I always thought he was older than me!!

Damn. (And bollocks).

I am only older than him by less years than the fingers on one hand.............
