I saw some lovely smiley photos of Rafa looking pretty in pink.

JaneJeffer · 08/02/2020 17:51

I've been to vote. Seemed to be a steady turn out. The wind has calmed down for now. I need to make dinner but I'm feeling very lazy. I'm in a rugby induced stupor!

PrivateSpidey · 08/02/2020 20:38

Good on you Jane. I'm still waiting for the TV to become free so I can watch Rafa v Fed!

The wind is really whistling down the chimney now. I am drinking wine and keep checking the trampoline!

How's trampoline watch going Private?

PrivateSpidey · 09/02/2020 08:45

Jane thanks for thinking of me at this difficult time Grin

It's surviving so far . It's so windy here, how is it with all of you? Hope everyone stays safe and warm Brew

Grin It's a bit gusty here.

magimedi · 09/02/2020 09:54

Reckon it's about a Force7 here & still getting up.

Fascinating thread in the Weather topic with lots o links to wind speed sites etc:

Raahh · 09/02/2020 09:58

Nasty here, but probably not as bad as elsewhere- dh has just taken the dog out because he was refusing to go out in the rain. Both came back drenched. Grin.

Dh is very proud of himself, as he has a Ciara on his football team, and she scored 2 goals yesterday to win them a game. He is writing his match report with the heading 'Storm Ciara hits early'. It's the little things that amuse them, isn't it? Grin.

Raahh · 09/02/2020 10:02

Someone on the weather thread Magi has just said there are trees down in the Manchester suburbs. It's a big place, but I think I will stay in. Just in case. Grin.

Raahh · 09/02/2020 10:04

Mind you, we seem to have our own little weather system here - it can be snowing 200 yards up the road- and nothing here. It's like the weather knows where the boundaries are Grin.

JaneJeffer · 09/02/2020 10:08

Good headline Grin

magimedi · 09/02/2020 10:10

I whizzed out for the paper about 8am but am not going out again. Going to cleran the bathroom & cook a roast.

PrivateSpidey · 09/02/2020 10:15

Love the headline Raahh! Grin

Glad everyone is ok. Just been reading the weather thread, thanks for the tip off magi.

"Ireland is today being battered by a severe storm that threatens to whip across the country and lead to recriminations on how prepared those in charge were for what has happened.
Oh, and there is some bad weather outside as well."
Your DH could get a job at RTÉ Raahh Grin

Fizzywinegum · 09/02/2020 10:17

I’m still in bed Grin - it sounds awful out there! DH went out to get the paper - he took a special waterproof bag so it wouldn’t get wet!

Don’t think I’ll be going far today (I will try and get out of bed at some point - maybe)

I saw a photo of a trampoline on a trainline - hope it wasn't yours Spidey Shock

Raahh · 09/02/2020 10:18

Oh, dh thinks he is the bees knees for coming up with it- and I think he actually came up with it before they even played. Good thing she scored, bless him. Grin.

Raahh · 09/02/2020 10:19

Jane Grin

PrivateSpidey · 09/02/2020 11:14

I saw a photo of a trampoline on a trainline

Oh god Shock no, luckily it wasn't ours!! How awful!

Our neighbours' trampoline (from a few doors down) ended up in our NDN's garden just before Christmas, it wasn't even that windy so I don't know what was going on there - just a random gust I suppose. Anyway they were out yesterday taking it down - once bitten I guess!!

Jane love the RTE quote! Grin They've got to make the most of it eh?

The TV is finally free so I'm rushing into the front room to catch up on some tennis, played in lovely calm warm weather (presumably).

I have biscuits and a hot water bottle Grin

Oh my lord- the rain is really coming down now, with added hail.

Good thing dh has already been out. I'm worried the gate is going to come off- it keeps blowing open. I'm not going out again to shut it Grin.

Never has ironing seemed more appealing.

PrivateSpidey · 09/02/2020 12:27

Shock hope your gate survives Raahh! Ugh I can't wait for this storm to pass.

My tennis viewing was thwarted Hmm literally as soon as I sat down everyone descended on the living room, so now we're watching Dr Doolittle (Rex Harrison version) instead!

I'm watching a cheesy Hallmark film on E4 to escape the election results for a while and judging Jack Turner's Irish accent. He's not doing too bad. I googled to see where he's from and found this on his Twitter which I know some of you will love Grin

JaneJeffer · 09/02/2020 12:55

This!

Raahh · 09/02/2020 12:56

Jane those are great socks.

We need some for the tennis too. Grin

JaneJeffer · 09/02/2020 12:58

Oh yes tennis socks would be great. Or just "leave me alone" would suffice.

Raahh · 09/02/2020 13:02
Grin

Unfortunately, my dog can't read. And he is the biggest pest of the lot at the moment Grin.
