Fizzy I think Mac hopes it will prompt Rafa's retirement.

Better be a very good spring/summer in Paris!

PrivateSpidey · 05/02/2020 19:45

Grin a roof - and new seats. AC would be in his element.

I'm just watching the Andy Murray documentary (I'm so behind the times). I was just checking to see if Prime was showing Montpellier (it's not Marseille this week, I was getting my French cities confused!) as Gasquet won his match today and I wanted to see it.

Anyway, they aren't.

So I ended up watching the Murray programme instead...

Yes Raahh hopefully the roof will mean lovely weather in Paris and no need for the roof at all!

I always thought that Mac didn’t like Rafa much but he does seem to admire him when he takes his shirt off Grin

The orange clay always makes me think of the laundry (I am Sascha!) - how do they get those orange stains out of white socks Shock. Orange dogs would be funny!

kazzaD66 · 05/02/2020 20:19

I have NEVER been able to get the orange clay stain out of any tennis kit, socks, shirts or shorts Confused

Hope you're enjoying the Murray documentary private
Well, maybe not the surgery Grin

PrivateSpidey · 05/02/2020 21:33

I fast forwarded that part Envy (not envy)

It was good, v emotional, especially watching it now when it all feels a bit uncertain.

Brave of him to let all of that be filmed, it felt he was quite vulnerable really, so to let people see that is brave I think.

I was shocked when I saw that Querrey match was in 2017 Shock and Murray was world No1 then. It hardly seems any time ago.

Was a treat to hear AC's dulcet tones as well Grin

Andy has admitted that, if he had the time again, he probably wouldn't have gone through with it. Apparently, the filming took a lot longer than originally envisaged and went into greater detail, because of the way his injury developed.

I thought he came out of it really well, as did his family and team.

impossibletoday · 07/02/2020 19:36

Federer Nadal live on eurosport 2

Raahh · 07/02/2020 19:41

It looks windy!

Raahh · 07/02/2020 19:42

And the net looks like they found it screwed up in a cupboard Grin.

kazzaD66 · 07/02/2020 20:28

I see GB have just gone 2-0 down on the first day of the Fed Cup, although it looks like Harriet Dart nearly pulled off a win against a higher ranked opponent.

PrivateSpidey · 07/02/2020 20:35

I was wondering if the Rafa-Fed match was showing on Amazon... didn't think to check Eurosport.

That's a shame about GB, they could have had a decent chance in that tie... Although Kuzmova is a pretty good player. Konta isn't playing iirc?

JaneJeffer · 07/02/2020 20:55

Damn I wish I'd checked this thread earlier impossible. I ended up watching Corrie, what a pile of shite!

kazzaD66 · 07/02/2020 22:24

No, neither Konta nor Boulter are playing.

impossibletoday · 08/02/2020 08:38

Repeated at 5.30 today

JaneJeffer · 08/02/2020 10:14

Thanks impossible. We're due another storm here today. Can summer just get a move on!

PrivateSpidey · 08/02/2020 14:22

Thanks impossible Tennis

I'm so fecked off with this storm - had lots of nice plans tomorrow (for once) which have now had to be called off. Now I'm in a right grump because instead of looking forward to tomorrow I've got to go and weigh down the trampoline with sacks of compost in case it blows away! Hmm

Yes when is spring?!

OP posts:
Fizzywinegum · 08/02/2020 15:31

It’s very windy here as well - I’ve bravely put some washing out but have to keep chasing it round the garden when it blows off the line! sorry that your weekend plans have been scuppered Spidey and hope everyone stays safe.

Does anyone know what the Rafa/Fed match is please? I’m home alone due to footy and rugby watching so might have a watch later

magimedi · 08/02/2020 15:59

Really is 'calm before the storm' here. Beautiful day, quite warm, no wind & very sunny. But we are going to get the wind from early tomorrow onwards.

Sorry plans have been scuppered - what a pain.

JaneJeffer · 08/02/2020 16:14

Fizzy it's on Eurosport 2. Match for Africa exhibition.

I need to go and vote but it's so horrible.

PrivateSpidey · 08/02/2020 16:54

Jane hope you stay dry! I wonder if the storm will affect turnout? My DH is always totally bemused by the fact we have elections on Thursdays here - he thinks Saturday is the best day for them, as in NZ. But I guess any day is weather dependent!

The wind/rain is just starting to roll in here. I don't know if my compost bag idea is going to work Confused - they don't look like they could withstand strong gusts tbh, but I am a bit paranoid.

I'm taping the Rafa match as no doubt it clashes with rugby Hmm

OP posts:
Fizzywinegum · 08/02/2020 17:02

Thanks Jane - DH considerately watches the rugby in the pub (don’t think it’s for my benefit really Grin)

JaneJeffer · 08/02/2020 17:06

Private it's the first time there's been a general election on a Saturday here since 1918.

I hope your trampoline will be ok. Ours took off in a storm shortly after we got it and ended up in a neighbour's field. I was just glad it didn't blow onto the road. We used to weigh it down by hanging concrete blocks on it after that. I did laugh at a comment on an article about the storm that said "I hope I get a trampoline" Grin

Don't think I'll get to watch the tennis because DS is on the PlayStation and he's been at work all day so I don't like to boot him off.

Raahh · 08/02/2020 17:26

I saw most of the match last night (before I fell asleep- really not feeling 100% at the moment), it was a lot of fun to watch. So many people in the stadium- they broke the attendance record- and it was all very sporting (though I imagine most for there for Roger). I even forgave the bias towards Fed in the commentary- since it was his event after all. Grin

I saw a clip of doubles on FB- with Trevor Noah and Bill Gates. There was one rally that went on for ages, it was

Raahh · 08/02/2020 17:29

posted too soon- it was an amazing rally.

Odd to see a hard court in 'orange clay' colours- that might mess with Rafa's head Grin

JaneJeffer · 08/02/2020 17:47

Roger was having a laugh about that Raahh Grin
