I thought the ending was great too. Just one question outstanding for me - the opening credits. Did we ever establish the meaning of the little girl wearing the mask? Everything else in the Verdi’s makes sense or has been referred to in one series or another. Except this?

I always imagined the girl in the mask was Carrie trying to find her way in the world, the mask alluding to her bipolar and the way she viewed things.
I can't remember if she was diagnosed in the story or if she had been known as bipolar as a child.

Penny she had already been diagnosed and was taking medication when we first met her. Her sister was treating her off book so that the CIA didn't know about the diagnosis.

Fairly belatedly - it's been a damn good run and thank you everyone for the laughs along the way, the many clever observations that I'd totally missed, the times you've had to spell out the bleeding obvious to me, the shared love of Quinn - too many things to list. Ah, Dar Adal! The good old days. I have to say in terms of the wider cast it peaked around series 4-5 for me. If Jenna and the annoying bearded guy (what was his name?) were offed I wouldn’t bat an eyelid because the characters were just props for Carrie, whereas they used to be more interesting - Martha with the awful husband, John, Lockhart, Astrid etc.

Rubbish Pres is in a new Neftlix thing, Reckoning, he's quite fanciable in it. Obviously not the Jogging Beardy Drs level of dishy, but pretty easy on the eye.

Seem to remember at one (several) point(s) we were suspicious of everyone. Apart from St. Saul. Though also remember fuming at him for being taken in by Hair. Ffs she was a wrong un.

In series one there was a really curious moment, Saul sitting in his chair in his house, and he looked down and looked at his rug. There was a close up of the rug, it was of Eastern or Indian design, dark colours, traditional.

We had seen Brodie get his stashed prayer mat out in his garage.

I wondered then if Saul was hiding some pro Islamist loyalty.

Still wonder about the curious rug shot.

Also, do we remember the red headed bloke Carrie shagged one night? Yet there was never a Franny story line about ‘was she / wasn’t she’ Brodie’s Dd.
