I think they would automatically look to him first but the whole rest of the village seems to think it was Kate. Doesn’t look like the police are even looking at that as a possibility.

I must admit I’m disappointed in this. Looked forward to it for ages because of it being filmed here and so far it’s been a bit meh. Hoping that the next episode it’ll improve vastly.

Did the policeman know Jess and Tom slept together and he has bribed the young lad to say it was Tom who picked the child up instead of her mum? Basically framing him?

Why on earth is Jess nursing Tom?

I was thinking the same. Does the DT character have no other friends or relatives? Why is a female friend responsible for him, including bringing him dinner on a tray in his bedroom?

Thought he scene with Jess driving away from DT saying "fk, fk, F K was excellent, extremely realistic.

DT looks controlling at best - basically destroying Kate's friendships.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I have never rated David Tennant as an actor.

I think Jess subconsciously was hanging around DT to try and decide if she thought he was guilty.

I still think it's DT! Think Kate running after Emily is a red herring.

I was really confused by the crabs too, I had to pause several times! Surely it must just be something weirdly symbolic rather than an actual clue?!

They crashed on the way home from the beach,the car door opened,bucket fell out with crabs that the kids had collected in buckets.

I think the majority of posters would find it less confusing if they put down their phones and concentrated on the programme instead of mumsnetting

I think Tom was retrospectively supposing the girls were already dead when he went to bed. In the video we saw that there were three beds in the room with the padlock so they had all been in together.

It is no surprise there were so few at the Kate's funeral. Everyone thinks she did it. Far too early for them to cremate someone involved in something like this. Toxicology is not even back yet.

Ok did I misunderstand this or did Tom sleep with Kate’s old best friend from college and that’s why they fell out years ago? It seems to have made Jess wake up to the fact that Tom was trying to isolate/control Kate and her friendships and relationships with anyone but him.

The MIL still weirds me out.

Also when the old college friend said “he puts on a great show doesn’t he,” gave me chills.

I LOVE DT he is my free pass if I ever got the chance lol but my god he is so chilling as a baddie it almost puts me off! I feel sorry for Steve :(

I thought it was interesting that Dillon is the other Doctor's son. I wonder if that is why he said it was Tom - to protect his Dad, or indeed his Mum. She seemed far too happy at the funeral.

Tom had slept with the college friend - according to her.

I am feeling a bit more charitable towards Jess. She seems very innocent. Tom seems to have taken advantage of her vulnerability. He is coming over as a hideout character indeed.

Some characters who were quite prominent in Episode 1 fell away this week. I knew the verminous boy was the doctor's son, but no way my DH would have recognised him. Characters are so thinly drawn. The blonde lady with the inappropriate boyfriend : you had to work hard to recall she was Steve's ex, I thought. The head barely appeared either. All the characters are under developed really but they must be there for a reason. Or is it just a badly written screenplay stuffed with too many speaking parts...

The gaps annoy me : we never really have seen the bots where everyone leapt to the conclusion that it was Kate. No one seems to have discussed or queried her ability to inject into three children's veins. They just seem to have accepted it all.

What was Jess doing with the first aid kit with one of the boys in his room?

On the subject of DT : he is definitely the worst mumbling culprit on the programme. No one else caused a problem this week but he keeps muttering. Maybe it's the beard. It's been shown that children , deaf people and those with communication problems find it harder to understand men with beards because of mouth and lip shapes being concealed so maybe lead roles in screen dramas should ditch them!
